I began working at Duffy's Deli the summer following my sophomore year of high school, May 2015. I still am employed by the deli and work mainly on the weekends during the school year; however, during the summer I usually work up to four days a week. Typically, my job consists of working with three other employees in which we work together in order to complete the night’s duties which include, preparing the customers’ orders, managing the cash register, maintaining the cleanliness of the store, washing dishes, transporting caterings, and lastly closing down the store.
I worked for McDonald's as a crew member and cashier from August 2014 until March 2015. I averaged between 4-12 hours a week. My posititons included taking customer's orders from the front register and drive-thru window. I also handled money and gave the customers their food. In addition to this, I also worked at Bombs away Inc. as a store clerk from March 2015 until June 2015. I averaged 6-9 hours a week. My job was to keep the store tidy, fold clothes, and stock

Patsy and Joby’s settinga are alike in many ways. One of those ways is the fact that there is lots of conflict going on in each story. One of those conflicts is in Patsy’s story and it’s the racism. Text from page 107 states the white doctor being racist to the black women who was once a slave. Page 107 states, “…said the doctor, ‘I don’t see what you people want to come up here for anyhow. Why don’t you just stay down South where you belong? You come up here and you’re just a burden and a trouble to they city.” Text from page 113 states the fact that the conflict in Joby’s story is the war. Page 113 states, “This story is about a Civil War drummer boy.”
Multiple composers wrote an argument describing how to improve the lives of European workers, including how their lives changed over the course of the nineteenth century. Malthus and Ricardo stated the benefits of having a laissez-faire government in the early 1800’s. Marx and Engels desired a revolution, aiming towards communism. Throughout document five, six, and seven it was examined that a balanced and controlled industry would benefit the most from this structure. Each author was extremely bias, yet the change they described was massive as the lives of the workers began to change. A laissez-faire government would be beneficial for the workers, yet the freedom
Since I don’t have a job at the moment, I decided to do this post based on my most previous place of employment. I worked for Littleton Coin Company, a local employee owned company that deals with the selling and buying of coins. It is an outcome oriented culture. Everyone is expected to do their best to make sure customers return and refer their friends and family. You are expected to do whatever possible to keep the customer happy, they even have a department that deals with the Whales so they have their own personal customer service rep. I worked in the at home order processing department, I went to the office daily and retrieved/returned work. There were many areas of conflict, especially as a homeworker. We were considered part-time but
In To Kill a Mockingbird a lot of prejudice occurs. It takes place in Maycomb, Alabama. The question is does the place affect the people’s opinions on race? For one I think it does. To start my argument I’ll describe where this all started, The Civil War.
While my job isn’t the best; it’s better than nothing. Working in the past eight months at Rite Aid, I’ve seen employees come and go at least once a month. My job title is “Sales Associate”. This merely doesn’t describe all my responsibilities. They range from receiving new merchandise on Mondays and Thursdays, which what we call ‘truck night’ to mopping the floor of pharmacy before I am able to call it a night. We are understaffed and consequently, I am overloaded with duties and by the time the morning comes, I am exhausted to the point where I am unable to concentrate in school. During the eight months, the majority of the Monday and Thursday nights, it has been the Night Time Assistant Manager and I. this is basically two people single
On March 1 2015, was the start of my new job at Elie Tahari in Tanger Outlets at the National Harbor. Three weeks before I started this job, I was called to meet for an interview. During my interview, I explained to my store manager that I am in school, and I have classes Mondays and Wednesdays. She then stated that she will take note of that, when she is preparing the schedule.
Working for The Cheesecake Factory has taught me new dimension of hospitality. This opportunity has evolved my interpersonal skills, as sometimes it requires communicating with impatient, and rude people. I have to keep a positive attitude through a stressful and fast paced environment. I believe these skills are highly transferable to nursing as there are people sometimes at their worst. I try to look pass each person and not quick to judge them solely on their immediate action. For instance, I think about what hardship that person might have faced and when I keep these in mind, I find it easy for me to respond in a calm and respectful manner. As a nurse one day, I will encounter patients who are having an unpleasant day, but I know not to
When we first arrived the owner had greeted us with a warm welcome, and thanked us for helping with his diner. The diner was packed so we started our shifts soon after we were shown around. The owner was pleased with our work on the first day, and he looked forward to having us work in the diner. We did not officially start until Monday, which was in three days.
However, my attempt to better my financial status became a nightmare. This job required me to work at any given time upon request of my supervisor. Although, I had a set schedule to work, I could receive a call requesting that I come into work, at a short notice. This job rotated my days off every month, and changed my work schedule every three months. While working at this job, I was unable to make plans or even enjoy the holidays or plan vacations with my loved ones. Majority of the time during the holidays or weekends, I spent time alone working in my assigned area, dealing with whatever problems occurred. Whether it was checking a building to see if a burglary occurred or relaying a message to inform a family member of a deceased loved one in the late hours of the
After working at McDonalds for three weeks, I began to make new friends and was glad that I didn’t decide to quit my job. I enjoyed that I could earn my own money and didn’t have to ask my mother for money anymore. Work had been great after the first customer incident happened. I had not received any customer complaints and my manager said that I might employee of the
Bimbo Bakeries USA, headquartered in Horsham, Pennsylvania is the United States affiliate of Grupo Industrial Bimbo, founded in Mexico City, Mexico. Though Grupo Bimbo is now a multinational corporation, it began as a single family-owned bakery in Mexico City called “El Molino”. Lorenzo Servitje Sendra worked with his father in the family bakery throughout his childhood, but when his father died in 1936 he had to take over. Lorenzo was educated and ambitious, and together with three of his family members devised a plan to increase the scope of their business. They bought five delivery vans to deliver their breads, wrapped in plastic to preserve freshness, to various small stores daily. Customers loved their product and within a few years they had increased production and were expanding outside of Mexico City.
“Hello, my name is Stephanie and I will be taking care of you tonight.” This is my routine that sounds rather scripted. Waitressing is just one of the many roles in my life. Wait staff almost have a script for how to handle customers. Being a waitress is a positive role in my life. It is something I can enjoy while doing and work with people who appreciate working with me. This is one of my favorite roles that I have had in my life. Waitressing has made me a more open person. I have learned many different things in these two years of waitressing. There are certain expectations that all customers have upon entering a restaurant. Within waitressing, my role consists of serving customers, working with other wait staff, cooperating with
I am a clerk one employed at Public Health Services Department for almost five years; I was quite satisfied and happy doing my current job. One aspect of my job is assisting in the processing of Food Badge. Recently I have gotten dissatisfied with my job; reason being the process of persons applying for their food badges has changed without really consulting me being that I am normally in the forefront facing customers each day. Due to this sudden change my job has become a bit challenging for me to do it on my own. In light of this, I would have highlighted the issues I am being faced with by the new development put in place to my supervisors and the persons who are responsible for the change. To no avail nothing was done to aid my plea.
