For the last fifteen years I have served as an active duty Chaplain assistant in the United States Army. During that time I was responsible for providing central office administrative support by managing, and distributing correspondence, messages, forms and record keeping. I have Coordinated with organizations and agencies and acted as a liaison to augment Chaplain Programs and functions. I have conducted peer-to-peer counseling in the areas of grief management, suicide prevention, and organizational morale. Throughout my time in the Army I also learned such skills as conflict resolution, critical thinking and time management. I believe that these skills will be a great asset to achieving my goals and completing my degree at Colorado Christian University. The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies degree program will allow me …show more content…
This became a works based salvation for me. I struggled with this “Religious” stuff because after trying for a while to do all of the “right things,” I grew tired and took part in the things of this world. Other events in my life growing up made me filled with anger. I didn’t like the anger so I would try to numb this anger with relationships. If I felt someone else liked me, then I would like myself as well. When I met the woman who now is my wife, we decided to get married. I knew the “right” thing to do would be to get married in a church. This led me back to God and His rules. I obeyed as best I could for a long time but a few years later I enlisted in the Army and was introduced to the numbing power of Alcohol. I began to believe the lie that I deserved to drink. Off and on for the next 9 years I would try and do the religious thing, but always found it easier to numb the anger rather than put on the act of what I thought a Christian looked like. I wanted to end the anger and all the pain that I was causing my wife and children, but I didn’t know

I would like to pursue counseling as my career and become a successful leader in the field. I have always had a passion to assist people in emotional distress. As a qualified professional in the counseling field, I would be able to identify their problems as well as offer them the most appropriate solutions that may help them deal with their situations. However, working as a professional counselor requires that I possess the relevant skills and knowledge that would enable me to offer quality services in which I think that I can obtain the skills at Capella University. As a
I am honored and thankful for the opportunity to seek re-election to the NSAA Board of Directors as a Member at Large for my second consecutive term. I am a Veteran of the United States Navy and I am employed by American Surgical Professionals in Corpus Christi, TX as a Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Assistant for the past seven years. Serving on such a distinguished Board of Directors has had a profound impact on how deeply committed I am in continuing to establish directives with the board to help promote the professional and personal excellence of each surgical assistant nationwide. Unity among our profession is paramount in successfully addressing our legislative and organizational challenges that we face as individuals and as a whole. Together
Being a Medical Assistant you must be prepared to face the various types of emergencies. Two most common emergencies that a Medical assistant will be facing are seizures and fainting. In appearance it would seem that fainting and seizures are a little similar they both disrupt the normal consciousness.
Chaplains kept the faith by holding on to the “be, know, do concept between the 1200s and the 1600s AD. Being a practitioner of faith meant applying the rites commanders and the papacy authorized as a mission requirement. Knowing meant priests were to have a thorough knowledge of the rites of penance, mass, final unction, and viaticum. [1] Doing simply meant conducting the

My commitment to my goal of receiving a Master’s degree in counseling has been demonstrated throughout my studies at Rollins by maintaining a GPA of 4.0, my willingness to support my cohort, and by exhibiting an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Although I had retired on a fixed income from a business career due to a disability, I have confirmed my potential, stamina, and desire to counsel through my volunteer work as a guardian advocate, working with people who suffer from addiction, and by remaining an advocate for the LGBTQ community. I have thrived with my undergraduate internship at the Center for Drug Free Living and with my prepracticum at Centaur.
On 1 February 2015 I received an email that was filled with both excitement and fear; I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sitting in my office at Fort Knox, Kentucky after a long day addressing all the issues that Chaplain Recruiting faced with my SGM, MSG Jose Canales. It was around 1900 and we were discussing the way ahead with getting back on track with the 2015 mission facing Chaplain Recruiting. In FY14, the Chaplaincy would fail to achieve its recruiting mission for the first time ever. I was selected to take over as the Chief of Army Chaplain recruiting to get the mission back on track even though I had a stabilization packet for my oldest daughter to finish her senior year of high school. I noticed an email in my inbox with a
This paper is the development of my personal theory on Christian Counseling. I use many scriptural references to support my beliefs and stress the importance of gaining wisdom and knowledge from the bible. It incorporates all of the presentations, readings, and critiques I did at Liberty University’s Theology and Spirituality in counseling course. I talk about how I integrate Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality into my Christian counseling and believe that they all have a lot to offer the Christian counselor. The role of integration and multitasking is necessary to be an effective Christian counselor under the guidelines of the American Association of Christian
The medical field is one of the fastest occupations in the world. Medical Assistants and LPNs have different roles and responsibilities. Correctional Officer’s have been around for a very long time and were designed to keep major offenders off the street after they have been arrested by the Police. The offenders are put in a holding cell at a Pre Trial Centre awaiting their court date.
As a Christian counseling, I realize that I am an adjunct, specializing in a practice that is appropriately attached to and derived from the core practice, as it is legally defined (Clinton and Ohlschlager, p133). I also realize that I am more than a counselor; however, I have become a soul-care artisan, a disciple, a mentor, a spiritual director, and a guide into the deeper way of Christ (p132). Therefore, every Christian counseling session, I have encountered, has started with a prayer, to welcome God into the midst, as the Holy Spirit take the lead and guides what is said by me, as the counselor. As a Christian counselor, it is my hope that my knowledge of Spiritual formation reshapes the inner man, by being formed spiritually from the inside out, transforming from a selfish and carnal existence to a holy and joyful one; by one’s faith, as well as, the client’s faith, in God (Clinton and Ohlschlager, p130)
I always had interest in a clinical research career that serves a large number of people by emphasizing more on research studies by exploring whether a medical strategy, treatment or device is safe and effective for humans. As a graduate in medicine, my strong base in the medical field continually challenged and motivated me to expand my skills in patient care. My coursework has allowed me to develop a keen understanding of how disruption in biological systems can influence one’s health.
Much of my whole life growing up was doing more good than bad. Much of us probably know about following rules as an access to heaven which I was raised under. Growing up as a child, I was forced in religion because of my grandparents did it and also my parents. My grandparents were so strict with their faith that my parents stop going to church since they made them feel not accepted. At times I asked my parents why we are not going to church and always told me we have other plans today. Not knowing that was the day I stopped going to church and knowing God more for the next 12 years of my life. During these times, I still followed the rules that I was raised under and was truly hard on myself when I did something wrong to the point where I would ground myself (I was 6 at the time).
As I consider the question for then personal ministry experience paper I realize that my personal life experience has shaped my life and calling tremendously. In fact I have stated many times that I wished I would have kept a daily journal of all the things the Lord has done in my life since I became a believer. But, as you will see as you read this paper, after becoming a Christian, and having now been saved for almost 13 years, I can look back and see the sovereign hand of the Almighty working throughout my life.
