Dwight Howard
Dwight David Howard was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 8, 1985. Howard became serious about playing basketball around age 9 and attended Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. During his high school career, he primarily played power forward and averaged 16.6 points, 6.3 blocks, and 13.5 rebounds per game in a total of 129 high school appearances. As a senior, Howard helped lead his team to the 2004 Georgia state title. In his senior year, he averaged 25 points, 8.1 blocks, 18 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He was widely recognized as the best high school basketball player in America and was subsequently awarded the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award and numerous others, including the McDonald’s National High School Player of the Year.

Orlando decided to move him to a center position due to his gains. In November 2005, Howard accumulated 21 points and 20 rebounds against Charlotte and became the youngest player to score 20 or more points and 20 or more rebounds in a single game.
During his third season, Howard was selected for his first NBA All-Star game as a reserve for the 2007 All-Star game. He finished the All-Star game with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Despite 2 years of playoff losses, Howard’s hard work paid off as Orlando qualified for the 2007 NBA Playoffs. However, the Magic lost to the Detroit Pistons in the first round. Overall, Howard finished first for total rebounds in the NBA season.

After a great collegiate career Derrick Rose got selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the NBA Draft. Derrick won rookie of the year honors and lead the struggling Bulls back into the playoffs. The next 3 season Derrick would play great and earn the most valuable player honors for 2010-2011 season.

Since the league draft of 1995, 17 first round picks have been high school players. This means that about 7 percent of first round draft picks in the NBA have been high school teens skipping out on their college education to make the jump to the NBA (Chylinski).

Nash began his basketball career not with a basketball in his hands but, rather being a gym junkie playing multiple sports. This created a natural athlete with highly developed spatial awareness. However, the Butler Bulldogs would soon prove them wrong. They once again won the Horizon League tournament and would continue to work their way to the Championship game. This time their opponent was the University of Connecticut Huskies. This game was more of a “humiliating” loss. They would lose 53-41. This was senior Matt Howard’s last game playing for the Bulldogs. It was also junior Shelvin Mack’s last game. Mack declared himself for the NBA Draft. Demarcus cousins is a center, he's 7'2" and currently plays for the Sacramento Kings. Demarcus was born in 1990, he is number 15. He was born in Mobile, Alabama, and grew up there. He went to LeFlore Magnet High School, which was in Mobile, Alabama. In high school he had a bunch on scouts watching him, he was wanted by a lot of people. After his final game in Hugh School, he declared the 2010 NBA draft.

Magic left college after his sophomore year in 1979 to join the Los Angeles Lakers. Magic made made NBA thirteen years with the Lakers, Magic made NBA history by accomplishing virtually everything a basketball player could dream of doing.
Howard will turn 30 this year. He’s an amazing defensive player who has enough power to shove his way to 16 points, grab 11 double-digit rebounds, and control the paint like an animal. He usually plays 29 minutes per game. Dwight is a good player as well as a funny person and amazing dunker. He is so good at dunking, they gave him the nickname Superman.
Magic was the leader of the 1980s showtime Lakers. His versatility inside the court has made him a very beloved player in the NBA, along with his big smile. Magic can play any position assigned to him, from point guard up to the center spot, he can pay it all. But what makes Magic different from everyone is his unique passing skills and keen eye inside the court. He has won championships with Lakers and has been a perennial all-star as well.
