Jocelyn, great post! EBSCO is definitely a great source for scholarly articles. According to Houser (2015) "Among the most important databases for nursing research is CINAHL (Cumulative Index for Nursing and Allied Health Literature), a collection of bibliographic records of articles, books, dissertations, and conference proceedings in nursing, biomedicine, and allied health. A subscription-based service, it is currently offered through EBSCO , a scholarly publisher." It is essential to be able to have resources such as EBSCO when it comes to clinical research since there is so many sources in the internet. When it comes to research we have to take into consideration where our sources are coming especially when there are websites such as WebMD

Evidence - Based Nursing, An introduction (2008, p. 285 ) “ The rapidity of change and the reorganization of nursing services within the health care sector presents challenges for the advancement of EBP. Managers and administrators should facilitate the uptake of practice based on current, high-quality research by formalizing the expectation that nurses care be Evidence Based”.
The NJCU library database is great for finding reliable information very easily. When I search for articles, I make sure to check the full text and peer-reviewed boxes so that I can access full articles that contain trustworthy information. The librarians are very friendly and always willing to help with research as well.
As part of the literature review, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Google Scholar, Cochrane, and EBSCOhost databases were used in the search for sources to be utilized in this DNP project. Evaluative criteria were used to determine quality, suitability, and coverage of selected articles. For instance, the aspect of

“Evidence-based practice (EBP) is using the best available research findings to make clinical decisions that are most effective and beneficial for patients” (Chitty & Black, 2007, p. 275). As a professional, evidence based practice incorporates critical thinking and improving your clinical judgement. In order to stay up to date with evidence based practice the nurse can attend continued education, professional conferences, read journals, and become a member of a professional organization (Chitty & Black, 2007, p. 276). Nurses are responsible in providing holistic, quality care to their clients. In order to effectively provide such care Boswell and Cannon (2009, p. 2 & 7) states that nurses must base their provision of care on the most current, up-to-date health information available and sound nursing knowledge. This is where evidence-based practice (EBP) comes in. Polit and Beck (2010, p. 4) defined EBP as "the use of the best clinical evidence in making patient care desicions". This usually comes from research conducted by nurses and other healthcare professionals. Thus it is pertinent that research reports are critically analyzed.
In the nursing field, it is a part of your job to stay abreast with the latest medical research findings and on top of the latest information concerning your profession. The best way to achieve these goals is to do your own research. When you do your research you will have to choose between professional nursing literature and non-professional literature. It is important that you know the characteristics of both and the pros and cons. For my example of professional nursing literature, I used the article “Repetitive brain injury & CTE,” which was printed in Nursing Made Incredibly Easy! I used the article “Ahead of the Hit,” which appeared in Discover Magazine for an example of non-professional literature.
As a registered nurse and a future nurse practitioner, it is very crucial to stay up to date with the current evidence-based research and practices in order to provide a high quality care and safe patient care services.

I agree with your post. The Nursing & Allied Health Database is a full supply for students, teachers, researchers, and healthcare professional and also contains leading journals plus nursing procedure videos, reports that aid cultural competency. The ProQuest health Management helps health administration studies, covering insurance, and topics related to the delivery of patient care. The database providers tend to concentrate the information needs of professionals and also is best used for those preparing for a career in healthcare, teaching patient care, or engaged in nursing research.
Experience with EBP: Evidence-based practice plays a crucial role in the quality of patient care. When care is performed based upon evidence opposed to outdated textbooks, instinct, tradition, or colleagues influence (Beyea & Slattery, 2006). The average nurse is currently more than forty years of age, without the frequent education upon new topics, many nurses’ knowledge has become outdated. As new textbooks are not published yearly or often times not kept up to date within facilities, they do not serve as reliable sources of
Literature Search Paper Research allows an individual to investigate a subject in order to discover facts and theories. The facts learned from the research are applied to his or her everyday use.
