I think it went pretty well. The elementary schoolers really liked their Eagle Buddies and thought they did a great job. The middle schoolers learned a lot from the experience and definitely helped the elementary schoolers. I think doing practice meetings really helped some of the newer eagles, but next time I think I should pair up some of the older eagles with some of the newer ones. Basically, have them sit near each other so they can ask questions. Also, I need to be more prepared next time as I was supposed to have the Eagle Buddy teams ready. - Laszlo

November 10, 1775, Tun Tavern Philadelphia, PA. This was the original birthplace of the strongest branch of military on earth, the Marines. The Marines have been the backbone of the military and of America since for hundreds of years. I believe the Marines have been around in other forms under different names since roman times. The Marines

In American history, there are always well-known hero figures such as George Washington, Samuel Adams, and Ulysses S. Grant. However, there are other incredible people who altered the structure of the country as well. Brave African-American men fought for the freedoms and safety of the citizens, even though they themselves did not receive these benefits. The troops of these men were later recognized as the Buffalo soldiers.
Buffalo Soldiers were made up of former slaves, freemen and black Civil War Soldiers. Buffalo Soldiers got their names from the Indians because of the way they looked. Their short curly hair and their dark faces reminded Indians of buffalo. Another reason they were called Buffalo Soldiers is because of their fierce way of fighting reminded the Indians of the way the buffalo fought. The last reason they were called the Buffalo Soldiers was because they often wore thick coats made of buffalo hide in the cold of winter. In 1867 there were four black regiments: the 9th and 10th Cavalry units and the 24th and 25th Infantry units called the Buffalo Soldiers. The first black regiment to get the name of “Buffalo Soldiers” was the 10th cavalry.
The Marine corps officially made in 1775 november 10th after the efforts to join the revolutionary war by recruiting men in tun tavern congress saw their efforts and help with approving them to join and officially named them the united states marines. From then on the marines “have fought in every clime in place where we can take a gun.” that quote from the marine hymn made in --------. In 1775-1807 the dress blues was a huge transformation on a whole first a green jacket then a blue with
Located in the Panhandle of Nebraska is a national park call the Wildcats that is not well known. It isn’t a piece of land that many would think they would find in Nebraska. Its filled with pine trees as well as your normal grasses you’d find in Nebraska’s prairie lands. The Wildcat Hills is a beautiful escarpment that isn't very well known, is an extremely peaceful atmosphere, and is a wonderful place to escape the city to for a few days.
You probably don’t know this about me, but I used to be an eagle scout. And in order to be an eagle scout, you have to do things like go camping. And over the summer, my troop would like to travel about six hours north of Milwaukee to a place called Camp Lefeber, where we would camp in the wilderness for several days. About ten to twenty other scout troops from around Wisconsin would meet us there, and there were no cabins at the camp grounds. Instead, we slept in tents. My first year at camp, my friend, Matthew, and I had just the minimum age requirement to go: twelve years old. And, being the good friends that we are, we decided to share a tent for the time we were at camp. It’s not weird. We were in the wilderness. We shared for survival.
I am proud to be an Eagle Scout. Since first grade, when I joined Cub Scouts, I have participated in and enjoyed the Scouting program, and I cannot imagine what my life would have been like without it. Though not all of my friends continued through scouting (in fact I am the only member of my Cub scout den who continued through Scouts), I have continuously made new friends and relationships through the scouting program. Scouting has been a defining part of my life, and my life would be drastically different without the Scouting program.
The path to Eagle is not a journey that can be completed alone. Upon joining the Boy Scouts of America, I realized that I would need help from others to complete the monumental task of obtaining the Eagle rank. As I embarked on my path toward eagle, recognized that I would need guidance and examples of how to complete my eagle project. This realization prompted me to attend the eagle scout project of many individuals to whom I looked upon as role models. From each project, I acquired insightful advice about the responsibilities of an eagle scout while also improving the community. The service projects, which ranged from building benches for a park to restoring a church, helped me contribute by providing a beneficial service to many different
People say war changes people, molds them, changes the way they act, think, and behave. The true effect of war can never be measured, nor forgotten in the eyes of the changed. War is something you never want anyone to go through. It's a brutal thing that changes the softest of people into “Statues”. When people look back at wars and think how terrible it was to die there, Yet the people who survived may have the greatest wound.
Camp Ozark and its partner youth group, Ozone helped me in high school to develop my relationship with The Lord and my purpose to serve Him. The leaders and counselors that I knew encouraged me and guided me as I got to know Jesus. They are one of my biggest influences in wanting to do ministry in college and after. My relationship with my dad was something that hindered my self-perception and my relationship with Jesus. We had a tough relationship, as he fought a lot with my mom and also dealt with depression. I had a hard time understanding God as a perfect father, but over time I have come to learn what it means to have a perfect Heavenly Father, one that loves me unconditionally and rejoices in me. I have always had high expectations for
When the Buffalo Soldier had a war with the Indians. The Indians gave them the name "Buffalo Soldiers" because they looked like the Buffaloes. Their short curly hair and their dark faces. They also thought that they had the animal's spirits. A law was made were it gave permission for them to Calvary.
In the kerfuffle over presidential candidate Ben Carson’s claim that he was admitted to West Point, the news media have pointed out that the “full scholarship” part of his story adds even more confusion because, as the New York Times story today put it, “Technically, West Point does not offer scholarships. It is free.”
The Air Force Memorial is made out of 270 foot stainless steel beams that are curved. They represent the “Bomb Burst” maneuver that is in the U.S air force routine. This memorial was made to represent the men and women in the air force and to honor their sacrifices. The Air Force memorial’s first location was moved because it looked over the Marine Corps Memorial. This was a problem because several marine groups did not want any structure in the way of their memorial. This caused the memorial to move to the site that it is in now, the east-end of Columbia Pike. War Memorial was dedicated on July 27, 1995 to remember the fallen soldiers in the war. The memorial remembers the 5.8 million soldiers that participated in the war. One of the structures
