Hello Scouts and Families,
I hope everyone had an amazing Troop “Boot-Camp” and Leadership weekend. I want to thank all the adults that were able to oversee and guide. Now moving away from this weekend, I am here to primarily talk about my Eagle Scout project.
My Eagle Scout Project is a two weekend part project. Next week, we will have a prep day. On this day, we will be setting up so on the actual project day, we will all be ready and able to go. Furthermore, if you haven’t registered on the Troop Website, now would be the best time to do so. (To do this, go to the troop website, login, go to calendar, find my project, click on the project, and you will be prompted on if you are regretting or registering.). Okay, now that you guys know
The year is 2016, it is a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon. My father, John Carey, and I are driving to Sherman, Texas. Once I reach Sherman I will go before a board of leaders in order to achieve the ranking of Eagle Scout. I am incredibly nervous, anxious, but really I am ready to get into the meeting and show them that I am trustworthy and capable of achieving such an honor. As we pull up to the church where the meeting will be held, I realize that I could possibly not be ready. I have gone over my project, which they will be asking questions about, a million times. Not to mention I am the one who orchestrated the planning and everything about the project, so I am very familiar with it. Yet, I sit and wonder what if they ask that one question
Over a century ago, Woodrow Wilson implored higher education to seek to answer the questions and challenges of our community and nation by sharing ownership of the issues that define the well-being of our society. More recently, President Barack Obama stated: “Our task, working together, is to constantly widen the circle of our concern”. Service to others has been an integral part of my life that I anticipate continuing through adulthood. A service project that I completed over the summer taught me about the resiliency of the human spirit and the importance of widening my circle.
I am glad to say that I will begin the installation of the brand new sign for the St. Margaret's Parish Center this weekend for my Eagle Scout Project. The new sign has just been finished, and I am in need of a few dedicated scouts to assist me in the installation. I am looking for between 8-12 scouts to help out this Saturday between 9:00 - 12:00 and 12:00 - 3:00. Bring shovels, wheelbarrows, post diggers, and of course work gloves and safety glasses. If all goes to plan, we should get through all of the work on Saturday, but we may need some people to help out on Monday aswell. Thanks to everybody for your support, and remember to sign up on the Troop Web Site so I know how much food to get! Thanks again, hope to see
First off Congrats on the promotion to a very distinguished rank, part of the elite officers of the Armed Forces. I know it is well deserved. I appreciate the opportunity I was bestowed to meet you and also having my spouse be a part of your leadership team. I wish the best for you and your family as you pursue the next leg of your military
I have learned many lessons in my time that will help guide me through my life. However, I think one experience that will definitely stick with me forever is attending Missouri Boys State. At Boys State, our motto was, “A Week To Change A Lifetime,” and it truly was. We learned about integrity, honesty, pride, and what it means to be in the American Legion. We also learned about the political system and how our government works by making our own government.
After I attain the rank of Eagle Scout, I will continue to strive for more achievements and work towards completing other goals so I can become a model member of society.

I foresee a number of challenges that come with moving from a small town to a large city, especially during the college transition. One challenge I expect to be more troublesome will be that of having to manage my time effectively and efficiently with little to no interference from parental figures. This will no doubt be a daunting task as up until now parents do much of the planning with doctor’s appointments and making sure I balance fun and work. I believe that my experience planning for my Eagle Scout project will make the upheaval easier. I spent a decent portion of my summer planning to build a bridge from drawing designs, to purchasing supplies, to sending emails requesting help. Planning this project entirely on my own while still having
My interests in school are mainly science and history. I have many interest outside of school like welding, and build things out of metal for people. I like to hunt, fish, and being outdoors in nature. My hobbies include being in Boy Scouts, playing sports like Football, Baseball for my school. I also participate in ag Mechanics, and I shoot Air rifle competitively and I have gone and won State, and competed in the National competition.
Throughout different time periods and civilizations come many different types of art that would never be comparable to those of another time or place. There are also the pieces that come from a completely different time and place, but yet they can still be compared to one another. The Torso of a God (Egyptian, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, last decade of the reign of Amenhotep III, Granodiorite, 1359-1349 B.C.) and the Statue of Asklepios (Greek, Hellenistic period, Pentelic Marble, 2nd century B.C.) are two sculptures made hundreds of years apart, yet they both display many similarities and show how art is constantly changing whilst keeping the same core ideas.
Boy Scouts of America: I have been involved with the scouting program since I was six years old, and continue to be actively involved. I currently working to the rank of Eagle Scout. I am currently the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) of my troop, which includes running the weekly meetings, sending and creating the weekly agenda, updating our Troop website, and help plan Troop outings. On average I spend roughly 5 hours a week with doing activities that are involved with Boy Scouts.
What I want to do with my life after I get my Eagle Scout. I want to finish High school and go to college at Iowa Central. When I’m at Iowa Central I want to get my minor degree in Biology and get my major degree in Zoology. After I get my Zoology degree I want to go to Texas A&M and finish my schooling . When I am in college I want to get an internship with a local Veterinarian and work with him. So that I can learn everything that he knows and everything that I would need to know while I’m in my field of work. When I am in college I also want to take some abroad classes in Australia. So I can get some different methods of medical practices and other teachings. After college I want to move to Australia and work at the Sydney Zoo in Australia.
I have multiple physical disabilities that make me unable to participate in sports. Because of this, my extracurricular activities may not be impressive. However, since I am unable to do sports, I feel it is important to dedicate my time to volunteering. This has brought me down the path of being a Girl Scout for eleven years. In these eleven years, I have done many minuscule, but yet very important acts of goodness. Also, as a older girl scout in my service unit, I believe that it is vital to be a role model to the younger girl scouts. For the past two years, I have been a camp counselor in charge of crafts at the Lawrence County Girl Scout summer day camp. Last school year, I helped a Girl Scout troop leader of Daisies, which is kindergarten
In the World there is this great program called the Boy scouts of America. In this Boy Scout, program they like to go camping, hiking, merit badges, sell popcorn, and other kinds of fun events outside. There is another great program for girls in the World, and it is called the Girl Scouts of America. The girls scouts preform exciting indoor activities such as sell cookies, make items, and every once in a while they go camping. Although girls have their own program, the girls’ scouts, some of these girls are trying to join in the program for boys, and these same girls pushing to join the boy scouts at an earlier age as well.
Alabama was an experience that could never be achieved without the girl scouts. Through the numerous references and papers needed to be filled out the destination process became more and more scary. What if I didn't make it? Maybe my essay wasn't the best and everyone had done better who had applied? 100 thoughts ran through my mind until one day I received an email stating my acceptance into my first girl scout destination ever. From then on it was only a countdown of months and days until I was in Huntsville Alabama.
