When I first start doing my fieldwork it was in an early childhood setting. Then when I was getting close to the end I did my fieldwork in elementary schools. My major is Early Childhood Education/Elementary with an Type 04 accreditation. When it came to administrators they both had different titles and responsibility. But each one of their responsibility is the same to make sure they are meeting the needs of the children and families. The regulatory bodies in Early childhood facilities are the DCFS licensing they are the one that gives the daycare permission to have their doors open because they have meet certain standards/qualifications. Then after the DCFS licensing there is the Executive Director follow by the Director then it the Assistant Director each one of them has different responsibilities. In the daycare I work at now that have a Board od Directories members. If there is a problem that the Executive Director or director can’t solve then they go to them, so they can come up with a solution. In the public schools they have the local school board and local school counselor they are the ones that oversee the schools. Then inside of the public school they have the principal and assistant principal that oversee the staff and make sure they are doing their job responsibility. Then some schools …show more content…
In the elementary school the teachers felt like they had support from the teacher when it came to the curriculum, planning, delivering, and meeting the needs of each individual child. But in the daycare facilities the teacher felt like they were not getting no support from the administrators. They felt like the wanted them to solve all their problems and concerns by their self. When they needed someone to sit in the classroom to observe it was a struggle and they were
Governed by a board of directors and are inspected by the ISI (the Independent schools inspectorate) which is approved by the secretary of state.
TASK3, Describe roles and responsibilities of: A. school governors. B. senior management team. C. other statutory roles e.g. SENCO. D.
The Governors are the Head of the school and they are volunteers, that are on a panel. They are there to give direction, set accountability and act as a critical friend. They also hire staff, review pay, and look after the curriculum. The head teacher is responsible for all the school, staff under him and for the pupils, their education and discipline. Academies have greater freedom than state run schools, as they have freedom from the local authority. They set their own pay and conditions for staff. The timetable can be changed and days set to what they think is best, and also the curriculum is not set in stone. Sometimes
Chapter eight is about promoting communication and language development in early childhood education. Early communication is mostly non-verbal. Communication goes beyond the words we use; it develops with the use of gestures, facial expressions, hand movements and positioning of our body. Some of the first displays of communication by infants include, smiling, fussing and looking at an area, person or object. Later, communication extends to give signals such as pointing, reaching and body movements to indicate a want or need. The primary functions of early communication are behavior regulation, social interaction, and calling joint attention. Students with visual impairment and other disabilities are at risk for developing communication and
In England the school specific regulatory bodies is the Office for Standard in Education (OFSTED), it is responsible for carrying out inspections of schools, colleges and children’s homes by ensuring that the excellence or quality of the service provided is satisfactory and adequate for all the individual child and young adult.
Chapter two discusses various theorists that helped to mold and shape early childhood education to where it is today. There are several different theorists that contributed to the development of early childhood education. Some of these theorists include Alfred Adler, Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, and John Dewey. Each theorist developed a unique theory that has caused early childhood guidance and education to flourish like it has today. Without learning and building on these theories, early childhood guidance and education would never develop or change. The chapter explains how some theories may seem strange to the contemporary families, but these theories are the foundation of how early childhood education got to where it is today. The book goes
I am a student at Florida Atlantic University studying early childhood education. I am enrolled in EEC 3214 class this semester; the class is called designing and implementing a blending curriculum: birth to age eight. I am required to complete a field experience assignment at a preschool. I will observe young children ranging from three to five years old. I assure you that I will keep all information confidential. In addition, I reassure you that I will not share the information collected outside of my course and that no identifying information will be shared. I will respect and follow all the school’s policies and procedures in a professional manner.
Explain the roles of regulatory bodies relevant to the education sector which exist to monitor and enforce the legislative framework, including: General bodies such as Health and Safety Executive School specific regulatory bodies such as OFSTED The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) provides guidance and monitors the legislation for all sectors (business, industry, public), including the education sector. Schools are required to carry out risk assessments where there is a new situation or a situation which is deemed to have an increased risk; such as on a school outing. The HSE will inspect paperwork during audits of schools to endure that they are complying and not putting staff or pupils in any danger. Specific to the educations sector are departments such as The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills Department (OFSTED)
The job description of an Early Childhood Education director is alike that of any school administrator. However, Early Childhood Education director will mainly oversee a center that teach younger children. Early Childhood Education director will be responsible for setting the atmosphere for the center, managing the curriculum, overseeing physical center, hiring staff and managing the overall image of the center. They sometimes also ensure compliance with all local and federal laws governing child care, both in regard to the physical environment and the staff, and manage the financial affairs of the child care facility. Early Childhood Education director will work with qualified center staff to develop an appropriate curriculum and ensure that it complies with state and federal requirements.
My philosophy of Early childhood education is based on research that indicates that a child’s growth is developmental. Every child is unique in terms of life experiences, developmental readiness, and cultural heritage. A high quality early childhood program that provides a safe and nurturing environment, which promotes physical, social, emotional, language and cognitive development will ensure a positive continuation of the child’s education process
The governing body have a range of duties and responsibility within the school, this includes the conduct of the schools and to promote a high standard of educational achievement at the schools, as the schools accountable body they provide a strategic view of the school by establishing a vision, they set the purpose and aims of the school within an agreed policy framework. The school governors appoint and performance manage the head teacher. They also agree on the school’s improvement strategy such as setting targets with supporting budgets and staffing structures. The governors also sign off the self-evaluation process and they will respond to school’s improvement service and Ofsted reports as and when necessary.
Early Childhood Education illustrates the teaching and care of children in other environments outside of the home. Early childhood centers on the development of all children no matter their gender, race, abilities, or ethnic orientation and gives knowledge of early childhood learning process, which entails values, culture, desires of parents for their children, and especially a child’s need for knowledgeable functionality in society.
The education of the young mind is an important step in preparing the child for future learning experiences. The evolution of early childhood education has changed how adults and parents view the importance of offering stimulating and exciting opportunities to the very young. Early childhood Education offers the young child learning experiences that benefit them throughout their educational career. They soon embark on a whole new world of learning. These children are not only experiencing standard brain growth, but verbal and physical skills as well. Early childhood education teachers use a variation of techniques for instructing. They use lesson plans, worksheets, and even teacher resources for these young minds.
The administrator should have an open communication with all school personnel. Administrators must communicate regularly and meaningfully with all members of the school community. They provide this leadership skill by demonstrating the commitment to academic excellence. As the instructional leader of the school, an administrator will; collaborate, provide professional development, and offer instructional support to those in need. As mandated by the district and state, the instructional leader has a duty to evaluate the teacher 's instruction and performance. Evaluations should be unprejudiced and well documented specifying both strengths and weaknesses of the teacher. As the instructional leader,
Early childhood education is for children from the ages three to eight years old. In this field there are four learning goals that early programs have for a young child.
