I love being an Early Childhood Educator. I love working with kids. I love seeing kids grow and learn. However, it can be challenging being an Early Childhood Educator as this career requires Early Childhood Educators to be invested in early care and learning for children. I believe that Early Childhood Educators deserve better pay as it can be mentally as well as physically and emotionally demanding each day to be an Early Childhood Educator. I can relate to this because I nearly sacrificed my overall health when working in the field at the beginning of my career. It is a demanding career, but it is so rewarding to see children learn and grow. However, I was sick a lot. I missed some work days, but it was challenging to take the time I needed off. I was working while I was sick as there would be short supply of staff and I needed money to pay bills and other expenses. …show more content…
I was also a supply at that time. I tended to work almost every day Monday to Friday most of the time, either the full day or part day. The shift hours varied from about 25 hours to about 35 hours a week. It depended on the number of kids and the number of staff. There was a time or a couple of times or so that I didn’t work for almost a week due to illness or low number of kids. That was in the summer. However, I experienced the struggle to pay off bills and make a living in this wage paying job. I had to pull another job to support myself. I was working at a restaurant at a minimum wage during the weekends. I also needed my parents to support me financially at times as well, even though I was working two
I truly enjoy being able to support the children along their learning and discovering adventure with new concepts, ideas and experiences. The children should be introduced to understand about themselves so that they can learn who they are, who they can be and will be. It is a fulfilling feeling to know that as an early childhood educator, I can help to support the children to open their minds. At times, as cooperate in learning

In a discussion of Piaget, the constructivist theory will be explained and connected to the visual arts education. The socio-cultural theory and social development theory will be closely examined when
I believe that as an early childhood educator my goal will be to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child. I also believe that play should be the base of learning since children learn best by doing. I believe that a balance between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities is essential balance can be developed by using the developmentally appropriate practice approach, which means that activities should be “appropriate for each child and relevant to the child’s ability, needs and interests, also including the child’s family and being respectful to the child’s culture.
In my first semester of college at Concordia, I had the opportunity to have the class EDU 120. A requirement for this class was having 10 hours of fieldwork; at least 3 hours in each level of childhood. The reason for this requirement is to help the students discover what grade level they want to teach in the future.

One reason I’d really enjoy having this job is the commitment I’d have for my students. Being a preschool teacher requires a lot of time and effort which I am willing to put in. Many people do not give preschool teachers enough credit for what they do, yet preschool teachers are the ones that are teaching our young children a variety of skills. For example, they learn how to socialize and get along with others. They learn about self- control, and they
“Attending describes the specific behaviors of being mindful……. These action s can easily be remembered by the acronym FELOR: F=Face the speaker, E=eye contact, L=lean forward, O=Open posture, R=Relax.” (Wood &Schweitzer, 2010, p23). That will be a best way to communication. On the other side, in the bad communication scenario, when the doctor shows a bad interaction with his
An early childhood professional is one who has devoted not only their time to education on the topic of child development, but as their life's work. My aunt has dedicated her life's work to promoting the education, social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skill development of young children; which I admire becoming an educator myself. It also means that you work on developing the whole child and are constantly revising your philosophy and re-examining your own education on the subject. You have to keep learning as well, developing and changing yourself as well in order to maintain being a "professional". I believe that being a professional in early childhood means that you dedicate yourself to your own personal growth on the current trends/methods
One career that I want to try out is to be a Kindergarten teacher. Some things that
