As a student of the early College high school program is can say with confidence that the opportunities offered by this program are incomparable to any other. Not only have a gotten a head start in life and in my academics, i have had the chance to better myself as a person and even as a student. Early college high school presents amazing opportunities for everyone who is willing to work on their academics. Through this program i will be saving thousand of dollars in tuition money. When i graduate high school with an associate's degree i will have a huge head start in life. Also, in a college classroom setting there are so many more opportunities for individualism. Learning in a college setting grants so many more chances to grow as a student
I’m applying to UA Early College because I want to be able to step into college ahead of the game. I have been an overachiever since I was little and take each chance I get handed to me. This program additionally prepares me for courses I will take when in college. It gives a more profound understanding of how classes will be and the paces they will go at.
The Early College Alliance prepares students to go even beyond college. They offer classes that equip students with the knowledge they need to do many important things (like managing a budget, for example). They teach values in these classes that other schools don’t, and I think that is amazing.
The biggest reason the Jackson Early College Program would benefit me is the cost-effectiveness of the program. As a high school senior, I would be able to attend college courses anyways. However, with the Early College Program, I would be able to attend classes at a reduced cost. Despite the availability of scholarships, I do not qualify for many of them and I do not qualify for many grants from the government either. College is becoming increasingly expensive and being able to save even a miniscule amount of money is incredibly beneficial to me.
In the article “Two Years Are Better Than Four” author Liz Addison writes about how community college is a forgotten option for many students in America, and that it is not well advertised like the universities are. She writes about how community college is a great option for students who need a less expensive option, but still want a chance to further their education. Addison also writes about how they allow everyone to attend so you can “just begin”. Community college is a great option for many students because it allows for an affordable option for students to continue their education.
Throughout history, educational neglect of rural schools and students only compounded the high unemployment and poverty rates of many rural communities. By having access to high-quality education programs you are able to promote rural economic development and help build back up those areas. However, juveniles, adults and those who are currently unemployed often times find it difficult due to the lack of access to post-secondary schooling or career training programs to find adequate employment. By giving access to appropriate transition services, academic remediation and accommodations to help achieve success on their individualized path it enables them to address their barriers to higher education and economic empowerment. This is why the need for The Steps to Success program is something our community needs because it will
I wish to enter the LCC Early College on behalf of my boredom and my grievances with the K12 system’s lack of challenging material, inefficient placement processes, and absence of intellectually stimulating experiences and opinions that a college level environment could easily provide me. I am drawn to the concept of early college because of the freedom it gives to the student to pursue their interests with greater liberty than other rigid secondary educational options. I believe that the only obstacle standing between one’s goals, is the intensity of the challenges that came before, and one’s true willingness to achieve the goal they set. LCC would give me the intellectual challenges of accelerated learning that I crave and strive to achieve,
I would really like the opportunity to attend Wake STEM Early College High School. When I attended open house I saw that the students were interested in the same kind of things as me. They were excited about learning and working on projects together. That is the kind of school where I could work best. I have wanted to be a Mechanical/Computer engineer for as long as I can remember. STEM HS would be a great start on the way to a good engineering school. The 1.5 - 2 years of college credits would help my family tremendously by saving a lot of money.
I do believe that going to a college preparatory high school has given me the opportunity to prepare myself for the next level of my education more that most other students. Many of my classes are discussion based and seminar type classes which has helped me develop views and beliefs in a much more in depth manner. I also believe that the lessons I have learned through my 4 years of high school football have prepared me for the mental aspect of college. Two-a-Days in the Texas heat will always be one thing I remember as the hardest thing that I've ever done. Because of this I feel that I have more mental toughness than the average college freshman. An under appreciated leadership aspect from my resume in my opinion is my Globetrek Trip to Peru.
Early College High Schools (ECHS) are innovative high schools that allow students least likely to attend college an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and 60 college credit hours. Early College High Schools:
Going directly to college after high school can be completely beneficial to one’s life. It is what the government encourages while in high school and can easily be accomplished. By attending college at a young age you can live the infamous college life that so many adults speak of as “the best four years of my life”. These four years can be achieved and should be enjoyed. As a young student, one can have the stamina to attend class with hours on end. As a current college student, I see many adults coming back to college because they have been part of the group that has tried to succeed while only having a high school diploma. The truth of the matter is those high school students that realize that a four-year degree in college can secure a place in life that is acceptable for them will be the ones to succeed; furthermore, these students are the future of America.
College is a place where students learn what they want to be when they graduate and they use that knowledge they obtained from college to fulfill their dream by what they have studied, so hard for in college. Some people ask, “Is College worth it?” and the answer to that question is, “Yes.” A lot of people continue to disagree with that answer, but when it’s all said and done: college is worth it. That is why, there is still students that enroll into a 4-year college or a community college because they want to become successful in life which is the reason why they feel that college is worth it.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” This quote from Nelson Mandela always clicked with me, because while many things can change the world, education is always at the root of it. The Ottawa County Early College program is an opportunity for me to practice with this essential tool. I feel that I am a good fit for the program because I have passion for my studies, am proactive in them, and I flourish under challenge. This amazing program excites me because it will help me to achieve my overall goal for my education; to positively impact the world. While I have many different ideas with what I want to do with my education, Early College will allow me to explore many different paths within a budget I
Attending a community college has several benefits such as the low tuition and book fees, smaller classes, and experienced teachers at an affordable cost. In this two year period students also have the time to mature and get serious about their career before they get into the four year institution
Higher education is good for many things in today's world. College experiences help people to truly find themselves through personal growth. Higher education will expose you to people, ideas, and topics that you would never encounter in high school. Each year of college assists in
