To no man does the earth mean so much as to the soldier” (55). Paul explains how much the earth and the connection to earth means to the soldier in war in this passage. In a greater sense, nature can be used to comfort people in the real world because of its elements; the sounds that are heard, the things that can be seen and other things in nature. Because of how I was raised I know more about the world at large than you might expect for someone who has lived in very few places. I was born at 12:49 A.M. in Murphy, North Carolina, weighing about 9 pounds. My mom ran a shiitake mushroom farm, and my dad worked on landscaping and real estate. When I was 4 years old, I moved to Earthaven Ecovillage, meeting 4 kids that would turn out to be my friends for life! Earthaven Ecovillage is an alternative sustainable community of hippie-type people who use solar power and composting toilets. At first, I was skeptical because some of this was new to me, like the toilets! Then, I got used to living at a place that felt like a summer camp for hippies, and it became normal to me. But Earthavens

In essay “A dubious “diversity” report” the author John Leo criticizes a CNN report on the uprise of minorities and how the Latino and Black communities are banding together to become the new America. Leo starts by organizing points made in the article such as how the “diversity” was based on bias erroneous assumptions with little to no supporting evidence. Leo points out the reporters focus on the perceived alliance between Blacks and Latinos and even uses a quote from a female student to support his heinous ideas. In paraphrasing the female student commented towards the fact that the war is no longer between the black and hispanic minority races but rather the white class. Leo then points out the negligent behavior of the correspondent when interviewing one black and one latino student. The focus was on racial politics instead of the achievements and perseverance of the students.

“Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future.”
In essence, Ecotact shows strong potential to be financially successful while making a significant social impact, which is well aligned with that of Acumen’s.
I hope this proposal will assist the reader in understanding our Earth’s critical condition and ways even an individual can attribute to the betterment of our environment.
I believe every human on this earth is aware of the fact that earth does not belong to the man, but man belongs to the earth. Yet there is still fights and wars that humans go through to claim this land as theirs. This book “Earth’s democracy” by Vandana Shiva explains all the human actions done against nature. This book is a great reminder for all those that consider earth as something they own and mistreat it. Shiva talks about the rise of capitalism and corporate globalization produced monopolies causing an extraordinary concentration of wealth and power. Shiva believes we live in a world where commerce and profit take priority over people and nature and those with means control the government. The earth economy is a living economy. It is based on sustainable, diverse, pluralistic systems that protect nature and people, are chosen by people, for the benefit of the common good. Earth democracy is a living democracy. It promotes the responsible use and conservation of natural resources through communal ownership. The three basic concepts define earth democracy, they are: living economies, living democracies and living cultures.
