I'm going to start off my essay by talking about "earth pollution". There are seven different types of earth pollution. Starting of with water pollution and air pollution, I think these would be the most common and prevalent forms of earth pollution. Water and air are both extremely important to the enviroment. The rest is, soil pollution, thermal pollution, radioactive pollution, noise pollution and light pollution. There is also air pollution that works in a green house infect. Which can warm up the earth. The green house affect can be caused by sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide. Soil pollution is caused by, " Human made chemicals or other alternation in the natural soil environment". It is meanly caused by agricultural chemicals, industrial stuff and people who do not take good care of their trash. An example of this is (littering). Thermal pollution is a process that changes water quality for the worse by the water tempter. The main way that thermal pollution is active, is by big "Power Plants" using water as a coolant. Radioactive pollution is when are there radioactive particles in the air, and this is caused by human actions. It is accidental or on tentonal . Noise pollution is basically where there is a lot of noise that people just do not want. It can even damage stuff like your hearing not being able to sleep as well and it can cause high stress levels, and it has more effects than that. When I first saw noise pollution as one of the seven different types of earth pollution I thought it was kind of weird, but now that I looked in to it, it makes more sence. For the last one of the seven types of earth pollution (which is Light pollution) I decided to take a closer look at it then the others. So, I watched a documentary about light pollution. Light pollution is when a lot of lights, mainly coming from big cities, this is bad because it makes it harder to see the stars. What makes so you can't see the stars is light that shines up on dust particles. In the past people lite things up with torches or lamps but now all over the world people are lighting things up with electrice lights. Astronomers have noticed that when they want to get a good look at the night sky they have to go farther away from big
The increase in pollution over the past century is of little surprise to many. Mankind has made great strides in such a short time, however, with these great strides, there are consequences. With the advancement of technology and the ability to harvest different sources of energies, there has been a rise in the amount of wastes and pollution. Actions that most people don’t even consider, such as driving their car and using fertilizers are mundane actions that may not seem like much, but they too, contribute to pollution. Eventually, many types of pollution and waste make their way to the ocean. Therefore, pollution has a significant impact on the ocean and marine life.
Pollution is a common place everywhere in the world, the phrase is used for many global issues in various forms. Air pollution is a change in the stratosphere which causes adaption to the air, physical, biological, and chemical gasses. This happens when pollutants released into the air which comes in many different forms such as; gases, smoke, and dusts. The process leads to difficulty for the natural air to breathe because it is contaminated as there are two various forms of air pollution; visible air pollution and invisible air pollution. Some causes and effects of air pollution are; burning of fossil fuels, mining operations, indoor air pollution, agriculture activities, global warming, acid rain, and depletion of Ozone layer to name a few. Air pollution is linked to many health related issues. One location I focused my study on was the health of the Chippewa people in Sarnia Ontario and the documentary film “Toxic Trespass”.
“Without water, life would not exist.” This is a quote taken from Water.org. However, it needs a little clarification, Without clean water, life will not exist for long. There are many countries today that do not have access to clean water. This necessity we the people of the United States of America take for granted is not a normal occurrence in every country. With this paper we will look at five different countries with the most polluted water in the world. We will see what is being done to help reduce the water pollution and how the water pollution is effecting the economy is these countries.
The ocean absorbs a little over 26 percent of all carbon in the atmosphere. This used to be good for both the ocean and the atmosphere because the ocean would keep the green house affect caused by carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. While the atmosphere would provide carbon dioxide for the marine life to turn into oxygen and use to sustain life. Due to the exponential increase in carbon emissions by cars, trains, planes, and nuclear power plants, the ocean is not only absorbing to much carbon dioxide which is making the average temperature rise to an inhabitable level. But the ocean is also absorbing many of the carcinogens of the emissions by cars which could potentially single handedly destroy all marine life if it is continued to be left unchecked.
Furthermore, there are many types of pollution; Air pollution is the change of atmospheric chemistry by chemical interference. Water pollution is the change of the quality of water when pollutants are directly or in directly distributed into water. Soil pollution, is the high concentration of toxic chemicals in soil. Thermal pollution is the change of water temperature that affects the aquatic. Light pollution, inappropriate use of artificial light. Noise pollution is the disturbing noise that affects the activity of human and animal life. Visual pollution, for instance telecommunication and electric wires and poles, signboards, garbage heaps and landfills and barren lands and deforestation. And the Radioactive pollution: the emissions of radiations substances to the environment from human
As I look out at the beautiful ocean, the silky sand and gorgeous seashells lay underneath my feet. The blue waves crashing down onto the shore. The ocean is truly a beautiful sight to see. However, we are slowly ruining this beautiful thing because of the way we treat this planet, the ocean is extremely polluted and marine life is paying for it. A few of the ways mankind is damaging marine life is by heavy oil pollution, and exposing marine life to dangerous chemicals.
Pollution has become a prevalent issue worldwide and has begun to affect the air used to breathe, the soil used to grow food, and the water used to drink. All of these effects result in commonly occurring destruction of health and wildlife that one may have seen on the news or heard from peers. In order to live, one needs food, water, clothing, and shelter. If the water and food that society consumes gets contaminated, a major component of life has been eradicated, which can only have negative consequences. If more people are educated as to what effects the environment, the world has a chance to counteract the effects of pollution. The main causes of pollution are the burning of fossil fuels such as with car exhausts, littering as a result of societal norms and laziness, and factory waste as a result of lax waste regulation, and can result in mass destruction of the environment and catastrophic effects on the everyday lives of contemporary people.
al Explain four different forms of global pollution that may arise from a construction project and explain four key methods used to protect the natural environment against such pollutants
Presently, most cars run on gasoline and thus gas stations are vital to our everyday life. In urban cities, gas stations are found in just about every other corner. It has already been documented that burning gasoline produces toxic fumes that contributes to air pollution, global warming, and many health concerns. Soil surrounding a gas station can also be contaminated with gasoline and generate soil pollution. In comparison with air, soil is more complex in composition and function. It functions as a sink for pollutants, as a filter which delays the passage of chemicals to groundwater, and as a bioreactor for organic life. Just as gas is a source of fuel for cars, soil is an essential component of the earth’s ecosystem. It serves as a home to many microbes and provides the necessary nutrients to plants that dwell in it. The pondus hyrdogenii (pH) indicates a solution’s acidity and alkalinity. A pH value of 7 is considered neutral. A solution with a pH between 0 to 7 is acid and one between 7 to 14 is alkaline. Most biological organisms including plants have a very narrow range of pH values in which environmental substrates can survive. Plants prefer acidic substances. This leads to the following questions: Are gas stations in El Paso, Texas a contributing factor to soil contamination?
The Earth is home to 950,000 species of insects, 150,000,000 species of animals and the most intelligent, efficient and deadly of them all: 7 billion humans. The Earth being the only planet inhabitable that can sustain life, its preservation is evidently vital - yet our efforts to do so are far behind the necessity to halt the exponentially increasing effects of our industrialization. Since the early 19th century, the research begun of our planet’s natural climate, with the French mathematician Joseph Fourier’s calculation that the Earth would be colder if it lacked an atmosphere. The escalation of greenhouse gas emissions into the Earth’s atmosphere escalated at the birth of the Industrial Revolution, and the effects have been illustrated clearly by scientists, which are getting increasingly more urgent on its maintenance. However, due to the recent decisions of the leader of our nation, who has chosen to prioritize economic relations over the dangerous state of our changes in climate and natural disasters, the need for its awareness is crucial. I am particularly passionate about the importance of spreading this aforementioned awareness and advocating for stricter regulations on carbon gas emissions, especially due to the fact that politicians have the ability to override these guidelines set by scientists. The three main points that are crucial to understanding climate change are: firstly, what it is and evidence that supports its existence, how it is affecting the Earth
Global warming may be the most critical and controversial issue the world faces in the twenty-first century. Throughout the years, society has divided itself into two different groups, there is those of who believe in global warming and those of who do not. Whether people may believe in global warming or not, pollution has become a very costly environmental problem in terms of human/animals lives and in term of overall destruction dealt to our planet earth. For over four decades, Greenpeace (an independent global campaign organization) which was established in 1971, Vancouver, Canada by Patrick Moore, Robert Hunter, and David McTaggart, has strived to change society's outlook towards global warming. The purpose of this environmental organization is to protect/conserve the environment and to promote global peace. If pollution persists to be a problem, however, humanity along with any other living organisms, will experience pollution’s unpleasant aftermath.
Air Pollution pollution in my community has received very little concern or not given much attention. In essay will focus much in my community where I live, therefore it will not touch much details as per country per se but what pollutants have been identified in my community.
We all see oceans as calming places to spend our vacation with family and friends. Sometimes we accidentally leave the trash right by the shore of the beach, and we don’t even realize how that trash might do anything to the ocean creatures. How much of trash do you think gets left on the beaches? Maybe ten, twenty hundred pounds. It’s neither one of them. According to NBC news “Volunteers scoured 33,000 miles off shoreline worldwide and found six million pounds of debris from cigarette butts and food wrappers (NBC news)”. This is insanity we don’t even realize how inadequate our behaviors are and because of our behavior what might happen to the innocent marine animals that are leaving in the ocean.
Air and water pollution are two of the biggest problems the environment faces today. It is one of the leading causes of death. Air and water pollution has been affecting the environment for several years causing many diseases among people especially children. Air and water pollution not only affects the nation, but it is a worldwide problem. Specifically between Australia and Tanzania and examine the difference between early childhood growth in the two countries. And throughout the paper, I will comparing and contrasting the varying aspects of clean water, polluted air for each country and their accessibility to clean water. There are harmful effects that can occur when water is contaminated. Particularly, how it affects children when they don't have access to primary essentials, something as simple as clean water and unpolluted air. and how each country and their environment and living conditions might threaten a child's life.
The end of the world is coming. For centuries, the planet earth has always been enduring large quantity of pollution from humanity that the planet’s lifespan is being exponentially reduced before it’s expected death. The earth’s demolition may be mainly caused by air pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution, therefore, leads to the destruction of all life on earth.
