If you know Ty and myself, then you know how hard it is for us to come out and ask for help. Well, we need help. We evacuated during the flood that devastated Baton Rouge and the surrounding area , and managed to catch the last boat that night. When we were finally able to come back to our apartment, we were blessed to find that our only losses were our vehicles, their content, and some food. However, we are on the second floor, and the contamination from the first is not being handled in a way that I'm comfortable with have Brylie, our 18-month-old, around. We need to move as soon as possible, but are short on funds, and struggling to find a place that is available. Any money raised will be going towards moving expenses and a vehicle.
Ms. Sparklyn has no family support residing in Michigan. When she lost her job her and the children were homeless living at Genesis House and then Cass Community Social Services waiting on housing. She is a very kind person and fell on hard times. She is very excited about moving into her new apartment after living in the shelter for so
Do you live outside of Israel, but want to participate in the struggle for Jewish religious freedom on the Temple Mount?
I am speaking to you today at the annual Caribbean Studies Association conference to discuss and address the concerns and issues surrounding the rebuilding of many of the Caribbean islands, which have been devastated after this past 2017 hurricane season. Hurricanes Irma and Maria, both category four hurricanes, have wreaked havoc on the Caribbean islands of Barbuda, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both of these hurricanes were catastrophic, causing significant deaths and infrastructure damages costing billions of dollars. Recently, it seems like there have been significantly more of these types of disasters happening than in the past; and the intensity of these disasters have increased as well. But let’s delve into why these post-colonial societies are so vulnerable to these types of natural disasters and what can be done to better prepare for these disasters in the future, by looking at one of the large-scale earthquakes that has shaken the Caribbean island of Haiti.
I will not be present tomorrow. On my behalf please give students the benchmark I left for them. The benchmark is on the desk and it is double sided. One side has the outline/checklist and the other side had the actual essay prompt on the Great Depression. In addition, I made copies of my roster for attendance and it is next to the copies of the essay ( green paper). I have loose leaf paper underneath the keyboard of the class computer. If students need writing utensils it is in the supply box, they know where to get
REVEAL YOUR TOPIC: Today, we will discuss the process of a hurricane from what it is, how it develops, and how it is categorizes.
California is due to be hit by an earthquake with an high magnitude of 8.0 comparable to the 1906 San Francisco 7.6 earthquake.
Change is coming to California, whether you like it or not. We are in the period of necessity. There are a lot more people than there were 50 years ago and our water system is not prepared for it. This drought is causing a lot of things, and people are not taking it seriously. Sixty percent of water in California is used for irrigation and agriculture, and forty percent is used for the actual people.
Storm winds and dangers thunderstorms image if you were in a hurricane. Image if you were in dangerous hurricane I will tell you how they track hurricanes, how/where they start, etc.
Now that Hurricane Irma is finished crushing our hopes and dreams we can finally get back too what’s important in life, and that is football. Buccaneers football to be exact. After what seems to be the longest week of our lives we can actually start to see the Bucs game upon the horizon and that is a beautiful thing.
Hurricanes form in the late summer and early fall when the sun heats up the surface of the ocean, this change in the weather along with a few other important factors help produce the storm.
I agree with the importance of knowing people at a more personal level as this can reduce racism. The importance of actual interaction in diversity management is proven in previous studies already. Contact between groups can diminish bias, according to an experiment on the European front during World War II. When blacks were asked to volunteer for combat in the U.S., Harvard sociologist Samuel Stouffer, learned that “whites whose companies had been joined by black platoons showed dramatically lower racial animus and greater willingness to work alongside blacks than those whose companies remained segregated” (Dobbin & Kalev, 2016). If people only knew and worked alongside others they deemed as “different” or even “inferior,” chance are they
Specific purpose: I want my audience to learn how hurricanes form and the process behind them.
State thesis&main points: So, in the speech, I am going to introduce how the earthquakes cause the damage to human; tell about the earthquakes prediction and why we need to have a rescue plan.
For example, using a leftover coffee can for loose nails or screws, or even washing and reusing a plastic zip-loc bag instead of throwing it in the garbage. Thrift shopping is a way of reusing someone else’s unwanted goods. As I spoke about in an earlier speech about thrifting, I included many locations and ways to thrift, also the benefits to the shopper and the donator. One place in particular was shopping at the local boys and girls club. I personally shop there, keeping my eyes open for a good deal. For example, the pair of jeans that I am wearing today was purchased from this store just a few months ago. I paid only $8.00 for this pair of Lucky Jeans and according to buckle.com, a retailer for lucky jeans the retail price is $99.00 that is a savings to me of $91.00.I am not the type to worry about name brands, but quality usually does cost more. If I can get a quality pair of jeans at a fraction on the price, I am glad to shop at the thrift store. I am thankful to the person that made the donation of the lucky jeans and they can benefit from that donation. According to the IRS webpage, IRS. Gov it explains that an individual can donate items like clothing, household furniture and furnishings, a car or boat, even taxidermy. The donations are appraised, by the donator, and recorded. At the time of filing taxes if the donation equals at least $500 for the year, the donator may take advantage of the
Do to the rain today, the trip to the Rockville Swim Center has been cancelled. The plan now is to go to the Twinbrook Community center and have indoor field day. I do encourage all parents to pack a lunch and plenty of water for today’s activities.
