Eastwood Summary

Smart described the painting as a product of influence by realists Brian Dunlop (1938-2009) and William Delafield-Cook (1936-2015). The most renowned artwork of his time in Sydney, it’s style is “realism coloured with surrealism; the pop element in his constant flirtation with abstraction” (Allen, 2013). The painting depicts a bald, rotund man standing under Sydney’s Cahill Expressway, alone amidst a desolate landscape. Above him, a cloudy sky hangs over the streetscape. “The Cahill Expressway” (1962) demonstrates Smart’s transition from impasto to eggshell finish, contrast of tone and notorious use of the Golden Mean. Smart clarified that this work, similar to his others, merely employs figures to indicate scale, “a bald man makes a lovely volume and gives me a highlight”(Hauser, 2013). Such a claim is evident in Smart’s focus on manipulating the contrast of urban features. The use of geometric shapes dominates the landscape and provides a contrast with the significantly smaller, organic areas of the man and sky. The artwork depicts a variety of urban subject matter, including both rounded and quadrilateral shapes. As one of his earlier pieces, the artwork consists of muted tones that allow shape and size to create contrast, rather than striking hues. The underpass of the foreground is emphasized through the used of the Golden Mean, coupled with illumination from the light source. Additionally, the curved shape and solid, smooth application of light yellow hues contrasts with the more intricate details of the darker background buildings. Whilst the ambiguity and tonal emphasis on the foreground figure inspires a multitude of interpretations, the juxtaposition of varying architecture and manipulation of composition indicates Smart’s intention to master the art of architectural

For more than fifty years, Clint Eastwood has been actively defining and redefining cinema as an art form. His experiences as an actor on television and in film have greatly influenced his directing style. Across his films, Eastwood incorporates several issues and techniques that help the audience to identify said films with Eastwood's directorial style. Eastwood's aim in his films is to tell stories of the human experience. Francois Truffaut and Andrew Sarris have aimed to define the qualities that make a director an auteur whose works stand out above the rest. The qualities defined by Truffaut and Sarris can be seen in Eastwood films including Unforgiven (1992), Million Dollar Baby (2004), and Changeling (2008) and help to establish Eastwood as an auteur.

Liveability is the sum of factors that work together to form the general quality of life experienced by a region’s residents and others. Clint Eastwood’s, Unforgiven, represents a “new” type of Western that defies the formula previously used to create traditional Western films. Unlike Shane, a film with a clear-cut threat to the community, endangering all homesteaders, a lack of defense, creating an unfair advantage to the threat imposed, and a true hero, one who saves the day and must willingly return to where he came from, Unforgiven is a Western that is told through a different formula. Eastwood tackles this revisionist piece and lacks the three basic components to any classic Western film – a threat, lack of defense, and a hero.

Terrey Hills is a super bushy northern Sydney suburb that is somewhat rural in certain sections, but it close enough to commute to the capital city or the CBD. Because there are so many large blocks of rural land, you will find several horse riding school and people who own horses. Most people in Terrey Hills own their homes in this bushland suburb. Suburbs that are so close to the bushlands often experience bush fires, but Terrey Hills is home to the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service. Quality child care, preschools, and primary and secondary schools are a big part of the Terrey Hills culture just like horses and sports.

While many movies have depicted various areas of the criminal justice system, the Shawshank Redemption is like no other. I first watched the film many years ago on television and since have seen it numerous times on platforms such as DVD and Netflix. The key stars in the production, are actors Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. Other standouts that who are featured in supporting roles included actors Bob Gunton and Clancy Brown. The film was directed by Frank Darabont who is known for criminal justice films such as the Green Mile. The Shawshank Redemption was first released in theaters September of 1994.

Shawshank Redemption is directed by Frank Darabot, published in 1995 Australia. The film focusses on the theme of forgiveness and escape. It follows an unusual friendship between Andy and Red set in a 1930’s American prison. The main focal scenes explored include: Brooks suicide and Tommy’s death. The film is to be narrated by Morgen Freeman (Red), it shows the 20 year period of Andy’s imprisonment. As a part of the analysis emphases on the scenes as it introduces the audience to the Shawshank prison and Andy’s first moments when attends to the prison to the very moment when he escapes to Mexico.

Dim sum has as many as 150 items on a single menu and about 2,000 items in the entire range; it could be fried, steamed or baked (1. Guide to Dim Sum by Hong Kong Tourism Board website). Dim sum is a prevalent and comfort food in any Chinese country. Depending how dim sum is presented to customers and consumers, they can be classified as good, service as well as a combination of both. They are either made to order from a restaurant kitchen or manufactured in a factory (2. SMH, heritage). The core benefit of dim sum is to satisfy the hunger. On an actual product level, good consistent quality in term of taste, texture, appearance and aroma can cause customers more likely to be repeating customers. Again, good package design and reputable brand name are examples of the actual product. If dim sum is to be presented at a restaurant setting, then the speed of food delivery from the kitchen to table and ambience of dining place are examples of the augmented product. Typically, dim sum is batch made and flash-frozen in a central kitchen before delivering to restaurants, caterers or grocery stores.
