The song Skyscraper it is about conquering something, trying to win a battle. This is no small conquest but in fact, a conquest that is a matter of life or death. A long and very hard battle that needs to be fought. In this case, it was about the artist Demi Lovato and her struggle with depression, self- harm, and an eating disorder. At the beginning of Skyscraper, the lyrics set a tone of hopelessness and sadness.
