About eBay eBay Incorporated is an American multinational e-commerce company with a presence across the world. It engages in b2b as well as c2c model of business. The company rose during the dot com bubble in the mid-1990s and is now one of the largest e-commerce companies in the world along with Amazon and Alibaba. Pierre Omidyar founded the company in 1995 in San Jose, California.

eBay works across three line of businesses:-
• eBay marketplaces: Marketplace to connect sellers to buyers
• Paypal: Provides payment solutions to consumers and merchants
• eBay enterprise: Provides technological and marketing solutions to its customers eBay.com began with auction type selling but eventually the company expanded into the “buy-it-now” mode of selling as well. This gives eBay, a competitive advantage over companies such as Amazon, which only provide “buy-it-now” services. Thus, the company has a mixed blend of business sellers and individual sellers.
