All in all, while my tenure there ended up destroying my career, numerous accomplishments by dedicated, hardworking, and talented staff nonetheless completed accordingly. And despite periodic micromanagement by a senior vice president akin to Ebenezer Scrooge, I oversaw a complete reorganization of an operations center, implemented a wide area network across two countries, brought up a new mainframe, and much more. Moreover, and unbeknownst to him, I even expedited the replacement of a mainframe circumventing his unwarranted deliberation and general indecisiveness while potentially saved the company thousands in excessive lease overrun expenses with IBM. Not surprising, that senior [bean counter] vice president viewed the company through

The play "A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley" by Israel Horovitz takes place in the Victorian era. In the play, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge, changed in many ways. Two ways Scrooge changed include him becoming to care about others and enjoying Christmas. In the beginning of the play, he acted much different. Overall, Ebenezer Scrooge went from a misanthrope to someone who now embraces Christmas spirit and is generous.
Ebenezer Scrooge learned a great deal about himself during the visitations of the three ghosts in A Christmas Carol. He learned things that not only changed his life, but also the lives of others such as Tiny Tim and his family. At first these changes came gradually, probably because they where not really "fuelled" by fear of what might be, but instead by remorse for things he had already done. Not until the second and third spirits visit Scrooge can a true change due to fear, not only in fear for what might be during his life but also in the end.
The passing of Ebenezer Scrooge, wasn’t as upsetting as most passings. The common things people have done in his village is talk about him. The text explicitly states Scrooge, a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, clutching, covetous, old sinner has passed away. According to the text, he despises many things such as happiness, humor, and even Christmas. From the reading, I know that he is depressed all the time, consequently his mental state has led him to call other people stupid, dumb, and idiots. On page three, in the conversation with his nephew Fred, Scrooge insults his nephew about marrying and loving his wife. The text states, that he also “seized the ruler with such energy of action, that the singer fled in terror, leaving the keyhole to the frost and even more congenial frost.” From the reading I know that Scrooge isn’t a people person and is very down about life. Based on the text he doesn’t really like being around them. For example Scrooge didn’t donate any money to the poor, and blew off his nephew about spending Christmas with them. In the text it states that there is no wind as bare as Scrooge, this means he doesn't really care or doesn't have many feelings.
Impacted can be defined as having a strong influence in a positive manor on someone or something. Scrooge was impacted most by the Ghost of Christmas present in the novella A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The Ghost of Christmas present taught him how to show kindness to others, and showed Scrooge how he affected those around him.
“Money can't buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery” (Spike Milligan). In the beginning of the story nobody likes Scrooge. He has money, but isn’t happy and people think he should be. In the book A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Scrooge has loads of money, but is greedy. Scrooge is selfish and doesn’t give to charity.
Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserable and greedy old man, who focuses mainly on his business and continues with his greedy ways on Christmas Eve. He is always grumpy and yells at his employees, and most of all at Bob Cratchit. Scrooge’s desire is to be by himself on Christmas Eve, and rejects his nephew Fred’s, invitation for dinner. One night, the ghost of Jacob Marley, a former colleague of Scrooge, who has passed away seven years ago, visits the old man. Marley reminds Scrooge of his cruel lifestyle and encourages him to change it before it is too late. He tells Scrooge that three spirits will visit him. When Scrooge falls asleep, The Ghost of Christmas Past visits him first. The Ghost shows him scenes from the past the reveal Scrooges’ live; from a lonesome young boy to a man who has allowed greed to overcome his life, a man who does not know love and compassion. Scrooge is touched by what he has seen and even allows emotions to overcome his stone-cold heart. Secondly, the Ghost of Christmas Present visits Scrooge. The Ghost takes Scrooge to several Christmas celebrations, including the party at Fred’s house. Also the Ghost takes Scrooge to the Crachit’s house, and warns him that unless the future is changed the crippled young son of Bob, Tiny Tim will die. The ghost warns Scrooge to be carful of his ignorance. Lastly the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come visits Scrooge. The old man becomes aware that several people discuses the death of someone. At last, he learns that this is
In the famous novel, A. Christmas Carol, the main character, Ebenezer Scrooge says a quote when he sees his own gravestone by the ghost of Christmas yet to come. I can explain what he meant when he said this. Also if Ebenezer followed his own conclusion, and how he lived up to it. I can also give meaningful examples and references to the text. Ebenezer Scrooge was a mean person who in the end learned from his mistakes by this famous quote.
Some names are so closely tied to human characteristics, that present society can substitute the name for the behavior. A "Judas" is a traitor. A "Mother Theresa" is someone who gives of him or herself to help others. Another famous name that immediately substitutes for behavior is Ebenezer Scrooge, the fictional protagonist from Charles Dickens' classic novella, "A Christmas Carol." Today, the very mention of his name induces the image of the mean-spirited and miserly. It is common to challenge avaricious behavior with the admonition, "Don't be a Scrooge." No good person is ever accused of Scrooge-like behavior. But Dickens' novel describes the evolution of Scrooge’s character beyond this callous, penny-pinching stereotype to that of a generous
