One warm morning in Ecose, a village quite far from here, Harry was selling his authentic breads and cereal at the market. Harry is a tall, bearded farmer who has a farm not far from Ecose. There, he makes his famous breads and cereal. The village people come out all the time just to buy Harry’s famous food. After some time, Harry’s loyal friend Richard walked over to talk. “Oh yeah, there’s going to be a big fair. There’s going to be a bread contest, a jam and jelly contest, and so on; it’s all happening right here next week,” said Richard. “Well, see you there,” said Harry as Richard walked away. Harry drove into the damp village the next week anticipating a fair, only to find no fair, nor people for that matter. He looked everywhere—through windows, in cars—and he even knocked on people’s doors. “I’m confused, where are they?” said Harry. …show more content…
We’ve been ta. . . .” Harry knew he must try to prepare a team to save the village people. In a cold, underground prison cell with the others, Richard’s loud cries went unheard. The people were scared and confused, and children were crying; their parents couldn’t console them. It was all one big mess. Finally, the eager-to-fight team went off adventuring to save the village people! It was soon the third day and they still hadn’t found them. The team was getting discouraged, when suddenly. . . . “Harry, Harry! We found them! They’re in the abandoned mine!” yelled Danny, one of the three men helping Harry from inside one of the other
The light hurt Wolfgang’s eyes as he open his eyes and looked up into the sky.His eyes strained because he remembers everything, the beating and his experience at Auschwitz.
In my opinion, the ending wasn’t satisfying. It wasn’t satisfying because I was expecting a little bit more. For example, when the whole entire band shaved their hair I was surprised. But, I was wondering as to why the girls didn’t do it as well, I was hoping that they’d shave their hair as well. Also, when Jeffery got sick and Steven couldn’t perform, but in the end he received an award for his drums. But, he didn’t even perform and he got the award, I thought that it was unfair for the other people that played the instruments. Also, when Steven went to Sam and she died I was heartbroken. So, I would’ve kept her alive, I would have let her meet her sister. I would let them have a reunion, then later on she would give some more advice to
During the train ride the NKVD gave the prisoner food rations mainly bread and water. Also during the train ride Andrius found a colorful shiny rock. “Well,” Mrs. Johnson interrupted, “how about we settled down and talk about our plans for the morning?” Everyone agreed and sat in a circle discussing their ideas. Next, they decided they should head to bed due to the early times they would have to wake in the morning. As they woke up, they put on their layers of clothes, grabbed their bags, and headed for the Johnsons’ business. They would be staying in an attic, which luckily had a bathroom, but would have to sleep all in one room. They set up their belongings and set rules which they would have to follow to stay safe.
Goldie laughed warmly at Edmund, no malice in her tone, shaking her head. "Of course I concern myself with your Papa! I can only imagine what he thinks I must've done to you to keep you out here so late, and after being so kind as to offering me a place to live." She took his smile and flashed one of her own, patting his hand comfortingly before pulling away to fetch her clothing.
Sleepless nights were Everette’s cup of tea since his parents murder. He obtained three jobs in the course of five years: murdering other people's list of victims, taking care of children in a hospital, and researching on finding who the people were responsible for his parents deaths. The last job, being the one he worked his hardest on. Sure, he worked hard killing for money and healing for children and their parents, but he wanted nothing more than to find and kill the ones who murdered his parents and vowed to find them before he lost his own life. The tall male would search far and wide within ranges, contacting people and connecting to find the murderers. Calling in South Carolina, someone tipped him off, giving him a little information that they did know. They didn’t give much, but it was enough for him to get a lead.
From inside we could hear Phineas fall clumsily down the white marble stairs. Everyone stayed calm as we rushed outside to assist him. Finny said he couldn’t move or feel his legs and people started splitting up to go get help and shouting orders. Once the doctors and nurses arrived some of us helped to move him to the infirmary. After what seemed like hours Dr. Stanpole came out to tell us the news. He told us something we never expected. Phineas severed his spine. He was paralyzed from the waist down and would never be able to walk again. He said that Phineas needed rest so everyone should go back to their rooms. Everyone left but I was frozen. It was almost as if I had fallen with Phineas, I couldn’t
The men outside of the cell started to laugh at him. He looked utterly pathetic at the moment. He continued to shake as he looked up at her. She let go of him walking towards the cell door. The man opened it up, letting her out. Isaac watched as the cell door was being closed. He lied down on the floor, continuing to cry. He couldn’t believe the things that were happening to him. The slums were more messed up than what he was led to believe.
The news of John swiftly filled the rest of the town like a plague. Soon everyone would know the true plot of my plan. The eyes of the people watch me as i dragged myself through the streets, it had already felt like they knew but i hadn't told anyone the truth. On the edge of the village
Now I feel that the thief is getting what he deserves. When they leave the thief standing in the road “the boy” becomes extremely upset, “And They set out along south with the boy crying and looking back at the nude and saltlike creature standing there in the road shivering and hugging himself.” “Oh Papa, he sobbed.”(McCarthy 258). I am now starting to feel the compassion the boy has towards the thief “He was hungry, Papa.” “He’s going to die.”(McCarthy 259). They finally take the thief’s clothes back and pile them in the middle of the road and I am glad of this. Later as they were lying down at camp I believe the man was starting to feel guilty, and he spoke “I wasnt going to kill him, he said.” “But the boy didnt answer.” “They rolled themselves in the blankets and lay there in the dark.” “He could tell the boy was awake and after a while the boy said: but we did kill him.”(McCarthy 260). When “the boy” made this comment I felt deep remorse and disgust in myself for having felt so harshly toward the thief in the beginning. I also felt happiness and relief in this story when “the man” and “the boy” found the underground shelter behind the house in the field, I felt as if I was there with them discovering the grand riches this den held! “Oh my God, he whispered.” “Oh my God.” “What is it
After the visit to "Wayne Bradley's" farm, Peter Singer and Jim Mason share some very important information on the experience with farming. Singer and Mason together examine negative impacts that individual Americans food choices have upon farmers, they believe should be the basis of dietary basics. The negative effects of much agriculture on animals, human health, and our environment as they have little faith that the American government will actually take the initiative to force the food industry to change without a lot of pressure, with this being said consumers, such as Mr. Bradley, force for reformed market behavior through demand for the food product, animals. Singer and Mason spend considerable time at Mr. Bradley farm to expose the
The three girls rushed inside of the gymnasium and immediately halted. Eiko faltered before falling to her knees. They were too late. All twenty seven on their friends, rivals, fellow classmates… were all dead. Murdered in cold blood. There were body parts strewn everywhere. Entrails were hanging from the lights, and limbs were stacked up in the middle of the room like lincoln logs. Mariko narrowed her eyes, forcing herself to ignore the scenery before she lost her mind and had a mental breakdown. Kazue pulled her out of the way as a spirit arrow went gliding past the place where she was just standing. Kazue transformed and lifted them both into the air, into safety. Eiko was releasing all of her pent up frustration.
He began to perspire. "Where are your father and mother?"The children looked up and smiled. "Oh, they'll be here directly." "Good, we must get going." but then Mr.McClean heard loud scream coming from the nursery. He run to the nursery as fast as he could. While Peter and wandy ran after him, she yelled at Mr.McClean to not open the door.As he slammed the door open, he saw the lions closing in on George Hadley and his wife and he yelled “Mr and Ms handly are you okay?” and then he turned to the kids behind him and told them to command the nursery to shut it down.” They are your parents; they raised you, fed you and most importantly, they loved you! Are you two really that heartless to try to kill them
Mickey Spillane once said, “The most important part of a story is the ending. No one reads a book to get to the middle.” Despite the fact that the beginning and middle of story play an important role, the resolution is what tends to stick with the reader the most. From the instant the audience meets Pip to the final chapter where Pip and Estella bump into each other after such a long time, Great Expectations is, all the way through, a complete classic. Yet, there is some debate on the most important part of the story - the ending. The ending that Dickens published in his book was actually different from the one he had first written. After hearing some advice from his friend Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton, Dickens decided to change the final part of his novel. A huge debate has been created as a result of the fixes Dickens made: which of the two endings that Dickens wrote was better - the original or the published one? After examining both Dickens’ original ending and published ending, it’s clear that Dickens’ original ending is the conclusion that overall fits Great Expectations better because of its good thematic expression and plausibility.
“Alright Leslie, you’re here!” some lady exclaimed. The whole town was in a type of quiet unison. It was implausibly light outside despite the fact that it was only 6 in the morning. The streets were flawlessly black with no cracks whatsoever. It was so peaceful considering that it was 200 people outside and Leslie was quite frightened by it.
