I hate it to break it to you but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre isn't a true story. I will go into more detail in this essay. There has been many serial killers over time but one in particular was Edward Theodore Gein, Ed was a notorious killer and a grave robber who then inspired several movies like Norman Bates (Psycho), Jame Gumb (The Silence of the Lambs) and Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre). So if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have those movies that so many people like. Edward Gein was born August 27, 1906 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Growing up Edward had a strong relationship with his mother who was really all about religion, nothing wrong about that. Edward lived a repressive and a solitary life. His older died in 1944 and his mother in 1945. When she died gein was a 39 year old men who had never been married. “weird old Eddie” is how people knew him. Ed began to develop an unhealthy interest in the female body after his mother's death and maybe that was all because when gein was growing up, his mom told him sex was a sin. So he never even came close to a women. Soon he was digging up corpses, females in particular. So fascinated by the female body he started seeking out fasher samples. Usually women of his mother's age. Including 54, year old Mary Hogand who ran a bar in december 1954 and Bernice worden who ran a local hardware store, she disappeared on 16th of November 1957. Mrs. Worden's son Frank was also the sheriff's deputy, upon learning that weird old Eddie Gein had been spotted in town on the day of his mother's disappearance, Frank Worden and the sheriff went to check out the old Gein place, already infamous amongst the local children as a haunted house. There, the gruesome evidence proved that Gein's bizarre obsessions had finally exploded into murder, and much, much worse. In the woodshed of the farm was the naked, headless body of Bernice Worden, hanging upside down from a meat hook and slit open down the front.
