Pollution is causing our entire ocean ecosystem to go downhill. While many people are oblivious to that statement, there are also many good minded people who can see the truth. The amount of trash that is being put into our oceans, even intentionally, is mind blowing. “There are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. Of that mass, 269,000 tons float on the surface, while some four billion plastic microfibers per square kilometer litter the deep sea” (Ocean Trash). All of that trash are products of people being lazy and just dropping it in the street. Many charities and institutions are opening up funding accounts that are trying to help, but the world needs everyone to take part in lessening the pollution problem and make substantial changes around our world. Without everyone helping, the world's oceans could possibly be in peril. As a nation, we will have to take chances and make a change in the way we dispose of trash and other polluting matter. Many individuals are oblivious to the drastically increasing pollution epidemic in all of our oceans, but it will soon enough be apparent to any regular person if we do not take measures into our hands. Pollution, as a whole, is single handedly destroying the ocean. That single epidemic has multiple types though; from pesticides to plastics, humans are making things difficult for the ocean world.
