At the end of the Cold War, Russia was faced with many problems, a decaying military, a failing economy and a population who was learning how to change from a communist country to a democratic country. The Cold War Period had greatly affected Russia and one of the first things to be noticed by the people were when prices on goods were no longer fixed. The idea of a free market system was new and not everyone was ready to except this new Russia. The country essentially had to rebuild itself. Former satellite countries were declaring independence as quick as they could. As people throughout the world watched, they were unsure if Russia would ever be able to shake their socialist/communist history. Currently Russia is one of the leading
The consequence of World War Two left the United States and Russia as the prevailing military forces on the planet, yet they had altogether different types of government and economy, the previous an industrialist majority rule government, the last a comrade tyranny. The two countries were adversaries who dreaded each other, each ideologically restricted.
Europe was rabid after the WW II, and its devastation led to serious political consequences. Russians were taking advantages of the deplorable conditions of Europe. Communist party’s propaganda was based on the idea that capitalism generates wars and devastation of the nations, and by joining communist party, European nations would rebuild their economy. The number of members of communist party rose dramatically after the WW2. In Belgium, Italy and France, communist party gained support. The main argument used to attract members was that all of the harsh circumstances of the Europe, food and coal shortages, devastation and misery were done by capitalist system, but communism comes to save those nation from starvation and misery.
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union toppled regimes, controlled a handful of Eastern European satellite states with an iron fist, and sent an unfathomable number of people into Siberian exile. Much of this brutality was the work of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Upon inception, the UN was essentially rendered irrelevant and impotent. In the immediate years after the UN adopted its 1948 human rights charter, the Soviet Union massacred its own people with impunity and nearly started a nuclear war with the United States. The UN was virtually silent for all those years.
Before the nation of Russia became the international powerhouse that we knew as the USSR, it was first the small backwater country, whose economy ran on the use of serfs, Czar 's ruled every aspect, and the chance of growth was limited; however, once the year 1917 came along, the entire aspect of what was to be the Russia nation changed into a very strange and new one, called the United of Soviet Socialist Republics. The Soviet Union was, at one point, second only to the United States of America and had the power to destroy the entire planet with the single acknowledgement of their leader, because of their nuclear capabilities and their political power. The Russian country became the great Communist powerhouse after a great revolution in
How significant was war in bringing about political change in Russia in the year 1856-1964?
Moscow, U.S.S.R. 19 September, 2020. Instead of in our world when it collapsed in 1989, the Soviet Union managed to pull through the tough time, but now it couldn’t. Rioters crowded the streets, attempting to penetrate the defenses of the buildings holding state officials. Only the KGB remained loyal to its government, while the U.S.S.R.’s enemies watched smugly, and the Warsaw Pact Nations defected to NATO. A civil war in Cuba ended communism there, and Anti-Communist factions in all nations were at strong points.

The Cold War was a period of very high tension between two nations that rose as superpowers after WWII; the United States and Soviet Russia. Although there were no official casualties, this "war" affected the lives of the leaders and those they ruled. The blame cannot be placed on one of the sides exclusively, but Soviet Russia and their allies in the east took more provocative action than their western counterparts. This included many things throughout the duration of the Cold War ( 1941-1991 ).
Boris Yeltsin was then left in control of Russia after replacing the communist party. They had to completely rebuild the economy and political structure. Eventually factories were shut down and the government was no longer supporting the people financially in return for their goods. 50% of Russia had lived below the poverty line by this time. Mineral fuels including iron, oil, steel, gems, precious metals and machinery had become a huge resource for the economy.
After the Cold War, not only was the Soviet Union facing many changes in the foreign and domestic policies but America was as well. The effects of the Cold War had a long lasting effect on American politics. About the same time as the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement took place, which changed America more than any other social movement in history. The connections between the two are often swept under the rug but this remains to be a very vital connection in the change in America’s foreign and domestic policy. In order for America to win the Cold War, civil rights were a necessity. Continuance of discrimination in America against minorities would make it nearly unmanageable to win over the newly freed third world. There were many ways that foreign and domestic policy reformed in the United States government but I
History happens every minute of the day and there is nothing we can do about it. What happens in the past tends to have a significant effect as to what will develop in the present and the future. This trend has been seen and displayed all throughout time. One perfect example of this is examining the relations between the United States and Russia. The political relationship between the United States and Russia has been an extreme shift throughout the past decades, from the two countries being allies during both World Wars, to the countries being on the brink of war against each other in the late 20th century. Tensions from the Cold War still have a significant impact on how the two countries relationship has developed today. Hostile relations

Shortly after the World War 2 ended, the United States and its North Atlantic Treaty Organization allies entered the cold war with the Soviet Union. Germany was divided in half and later, the Berlin Wall was constructed as a physical boundary between the Soviet controlled East Germany and NATO controlled West Germany. This standoff continued until the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991. The cold war had a huge influence on the world stage, but also had a major effect on the Soviet Union internally.
