On a day in December, the Japanese made a big mistake. The attack on Pearl Harbor affected many. The Japanese surprise attacked the United States. The Japanese planned to expand to China, however, the US would stop trading and giving Japan goods if they did. On December 7, 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Many Americans and Japanese died. Many Japanese were taken to detention centers after the attack. Before the Attack:
Before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Japanese planned to expand to China. If Japan did, however, the United States would stop trading and giving Japan goods. Japan thought that the only way to solve their economic and demographic problems was to expand to China. The United States did not like Japan’s attitude
On December 7, 1941, early in the morning Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. Nobody expected this. Japanese planes destroyed approximately 20 American naval vessels, and nearly 300 airplanes. 2000 American people were killed, and more than 100 injured.
The Japanese understood the Ultimatum as if any circumstances they choose not to surrender, the termination would lead the country to face the brutality and a major lost which was stated above. Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson had established a decision that the atomic bomb would be the “least abhorrent choice” that will be dropped above the city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as its priority and weighs the value the lives of honourable soldiers attacked without a trace. Also the military advisers
On December 7 1941, The Japanese attacked a naval base on Pearl Harbor. The destroyed about twenty naval ships and nearly 2,400 Americans died. (History.com staff, 2009). It was a Japanese Victory. This surprise attack led the United States to enter the war. (Historyonthenet staff 2000).Americans viewed Japanese as threats.
In the 1940’s, tension between Japan and America was dramatically increasing.Japan had recently declared that there was to be a new order, and that they were the new world power. The United States did not like Japan’s motives and cut Japan off from their main source of trade and supplies. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor because America put restrictions on trade, America was becoming too strong, and Japan wanted to be the at the top of the world power.
December 7,1941, began like any other day. The sun was warm and shining bright in Pearl Harbor. Most people were relaxing, sailors on the decks of their ships enjoying the beautiful day. But before it was over ,this day was the day that was going to make American hearts ache for years. The attacks bought in new changes for everyone in America, to the economy to the way people felt about America. It was the day the United States was attacked and bought in a World War II. The attack on Pearl Harbor made the American people realize they weren 't invincible to these type of foreign attacks.
On December 7, 1941 an “unexpected” attack altered the lives of many U.S. citizens located in Pearl Harbor. At first the attack was just a preventative measure from Japan to prevent the U.S. from interfering with the war Japan was planning to start with Southeast Asia. The aerial attack bombs resulted in the United States entry into World War II which had previously been going on for more than two years in Europe. The causes of the attack on Pearl Harbor can be justified by a number of reasons but the most evidential would be because of Japans imperialism. As Japan began to expand and invade China along with troops in French Indochina the United States gave japan the option to stop with their imperial ways or Japan would be cut off from all
This attack on pearl harbor, on december 7 1941 by the japanese was a terrorist attack, it was a surprise attack on the U.S naval base in pearl harbor and it wasn’t belligerent, no one knew it was going to happen. It was not known that this was going to happen. It was an attack to give economic problems to the U.S naval base so they would have a harder time trying to stop japan. Japan was in a Trade Embargo from the U.S so they were restricted of supplies and land and such. This reminds me of the 9/11 attack in 2001. Both attacks were surprises and both were on america and they both used some type of explosion. Another thing is that neither attack was about demographic problems it had to do with japan, and the beginning of World War 2. Also
On December 7th 1941 Japanese forces launched a sneak attack on a U.S. naval base. Hundreds were killed and of the 8 ships on station only 3 were not destroyed and even those were badly damaged(Naval History And Heritage Command). This attack was not only bad for America's military, but her people as well. This raid was a defining moment in history, it had a profound affect on America and her people. Causing abruptly, the joining of america in the second world war.
Just over two months after Japan's surprise attack at Pearl Harbor, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which gave the U.S. military the ability to designate areas that anyone could be excluded from. Even though the order did not explicitly refer to any particular ethnic or racial group, there was a clear implication of who this order was referring to. During the week the order was released, peole of Japanese descent were ordered to leave their homes in California. Soon, the forced relocation applied to the whole state, as well as much of the rest of the West Coast. Roosevelt signed another order the next month that created an agency to usher anyone of Japanese descent - most of whom were U.S. citizens- to camps
The attack on Pearl Harbor was a horrific event that will live on in the hearts and minds of Americans forever. Even though they were in tragic mourning Americans stood together proudly in their time of crisis. Japans plan was to decimate the Pacific Fleet. The Japanese put that plan into action of December 7, 1941. The Japanese surprise attack on Pearl harbor was the result of several factors and led to many casualties as well as the United States entering The second World War.
“Yesterday, December seventh, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. We will gain the inevitable triumph, so help us God.” (Franklin D. Roosevelt). Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered this speech, to the people of America, After the attack of Pearl Harbor. The Pearl Harbor was attacked by 353 Japanese fighter planes, bombers, and torpedo planes that were launched from 6 aircraft carriers. The Attack By the Japanese naval and air forces resulted in 3581 casualties, 188 aircraft destroyed, and three cruisers, 3
“A day that will live in infamy” or more widely known as Pearl Harbor occurred on December 7th, 1941. The Japanese had attacked the American military base at Pearl Harbor, which is near Oahu. “The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and more than 300 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded.” This caused the US to enter WWII, as well as caused a fear on the West coast of the US because of the dense population of Japanese Americans that are found there. The status regarding Japanese-Americans was changed rapidly after this event and they were thought to want to cause harm to the US because we declared war against the axis powers, which included Japan for revenge for Pearl Harbor.
One major problem that Japan faced was the considerable lack of natural resources in the eastern Asian country. Likewise, the United States saw significance in these resources and put their economic relations with Japan at a minimum. Japan’s main goal was to expand its territory in the Pacific as a way to resolve economic issues and take control of the market. Because of this, Japan attempted to conquer China, which did not sit well with the United States. President Franklin D. Roosevelt then froze all shipping to Japan, which led the Japanese to plan a surprise attack.
One of the biggest heartbreaks, depression, and destruction the Pearl Harbor attack. December 7, 1941 a day all patriots and people in the military will remember that fight the anger between America and Japan. By now Japan and the U.S will not apologize to each other U.S because they set off bombs in Japan’s empire. To this day Japan and the U.S have declared war by attacking each other. Each of the countries have not been on good terms since then.
December 7, 1941, will be a day that will never be forgotten. At 7:53 a.m. the first group of Japanese planes hit, the second at 8:55. By 9:55 the attack was all over. By 1:00 p.m. the carriers that launched the planes from 274 miles off the coast of Oahu were heading back to Japan. Just before 8 a.m. hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the United States of America Naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. The attack was a complete surprise, but the United States and Japan had edging toward a war for over 10 years. The USA was unhappy with Japan’s attitude with the United States was particularly unhappy with Japan’s increasingly belligerent attitude toward China. The Japanese government believed that the only way to solve
