Sports is one of the most viewed and attended events in today’s society. Today youth sports have soared in popularity, as more and more children participate in sports at a young age. Youth sports are intended to bring together young kids and develop friendships, teams, and to overall just have fun. As parents put their kids into these sports at a very young age, the effects can often be costly. The increase in popularity of youth sports has caused injuries to skyrocket, children and parents must face different ethnicities and also fairness towards playing time, and lastly youth sports coaches are not well educated and therefore often teach the youth the wrong ways of playing the game, which put the kids at a higher risk of injury. The popularity of youth sports has caused these multiple effects. The increase in injuries have widely grown throughout youth sports. As youth sports increased in popularity there has been a recorded 2.6 million hospital visits related to sports injuries with the youth. (Merkel, Donna L) Youth minds are still developing during youth football at a very young age, and continuous blows to the head or throwing in plays, teaching the youth, cause them to put stress on their brains at a very young age which will affect them in life and school once they grow into their highschool days.
