In my STEM class we all did the egg drop challenge. We had to drop it from the second to top step of the gym bleachers. We had to make sure it didn’t break. We had to make it were you could see all six sides of the egg. I had to get some duct tape, a balloon, some straws, and some card board. Then I put them all together by duct taping the straws after bending them the way I like then I put the egg inside and added a balloon and it worked surprisingly. It fell like a rock and it landed sideways it wouldn’t make sense that it didn’t crack. It didn’t have a scratch besides the one I put into it to measure. The body worked perfectly, but the balloon didn’t help at all. It didn’t lessen the blow but it is okay, it still stands today. Some improvements

In the lab of “The Falling Eggs and Automotive Lab”, we had to design a protective device able to hold the egg and allowing it survive from the impact of hitting the ground from the top of the staircase. We did this lab to investigate newton’s Laws and prove how they work. In the lab, we have to observe the forces that act on the egg and evaluate the way they work. We do this lab with an egg to relate to a real life collision with a car. The egg is essentially the person and the device that the egg is in is the Airbag. We use our knowledge about airbags and apply that to this lab in order to make the egg survive and not crack.
For this project, I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it, I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out of the tongue depressors and I used most of the yarn for the big cage and I used the Elmer’s glue to glue the tongue depressors together. The lid was then placed on the jar and an observation was made and recorded. Observations of the egg were then made after 12 hours and 24 hours had passed and the observations were recorded. After 24 hours had passed, the egg was removed from the syrup and rinsed with tap water and observations were made and recorded.

Ducks Unlimited is a North American non-profit organization that conserves wetlands and associated habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife and people. Ducks Unlimited was formed during the Great Depression when a group of conservation-minded waterfowlers saw a decrease in waterfowl populations.
