Luis Berrios 3/7/12 Physics Honors B Block Egg Drop Project For this project, I made a capsule for an egg that is to be dropped from about twenty feet. This capsule that I made was not what I was thinking at first but when I started to build it, I saw that this capsule would hold better than the one that I was thinking which was a triangular capsule with the egg in the middle but I saw later one that the egg would break if it hit one of the flat sides. The capsule is a cube that is made out of the tongue depressors and I used most of the yarn for the big cage and I used the Elmer’s glue to glue the tongue depressors together. I used pieces of the paper clips to hold the popsicle sticks together with the tongue depressors and some
Statement of the Problem What will happen to the egg when a student tests osmosis with 3 different soultions in a cup.The student is trying to see or find the effects of osmosis on an egg.Osmosis is the movement of water molecules through a selecfively permeable membrane. In society reproduction is one of the most important things that keeps our world's population growing. In these three short dystopian stories there are different approaches on ideas on what reproduction should be like and how it should be approached. Reproduction rights have an immensely big impact on each of these stories in different circumstances but are very much alike. These three different stories have different rules for the way they run their reproduction systems in their communities. Ten with a Flag the way the society has to do with reproduction is by a ranking system. In this case the people in the story find out how great their child is by ranking, so if the child is a ten it's perfect and if the baby has a perfect ten with a flag, the flag means that the baby might have something troubled or wrong about its persona. Amaryllis is about keeping society to a minimum. Auspicious Eggs is about the Catholic Church and its involvement the reproductive system. All of these stories have harsh endings if an individual can't do something to meet society's specifications about reproduction rules.
Preparation of maggots Firstly, eggs were collected from the eyes of Scomberomorus niphonius and disinfected in 1% sodium sulfite solution for 3 min, and subsequently in 3% Lysol brand disinfectant for 5 min. The disinfected eggs were then transferred to sterile vials to clone. Secondly, third stage larvae of Lucilia sericata were selected to be placed in 3.5% formalin for 5 min, 2% hydrogen peroxide solution for 3 min, and then 5% dilute hydrochloric acid solution for 5 min. After the two-step disinfection, the larvae remined vigorous. A hundred randomly selected larvae were proven to be aseptic by bacterial culture test.

The egg baby activity was an activity I particularly enjoyed doing in my college career. I am actually familiar with the care taking process for my egg, since I was assigned this type of project before while I was in high school; the only difference was that I had a partner for this experience. So to explain the process for caring for my baby was fairly simple, my partner, Lily, had a schedule that was the opposite of mine and we would switch off caring for the baby evenly. She had the baby one day and I would have him the next. Having to switch off between days primarily reminded me of how actual couples would have to raise children due to custody cases, in which some are not as lenient as switching off between parents like it was for this project. So the challenging part of this activity

Rita Calbay July 2, 2015 Christopher Moffatt Reproductive Physiology Mutation in the SRY gene The SRY gene is a very important aspect in determining the sex of an individual. In fact it is the SRY that specifically could be seen as the powerhouse machine in determining the sex of an individual. The SRY gene commonly called the Sex Determining Region of the Y- chromosome can normally cause the testis to develop rather than an ovary when it is presented in the chromosome. The function of the SRY gene is to provide a set of instructions for making the Sex-Determining region of the Y protein, which can also perform as a transcription factor, binding to specific regions of DNA and aid in the control and regulation of particular genes. Honeybees, of the genus Apis, play a huge role in our environment through pollination. One in every three bites of food you eat depends on pollinators. Pollinators transfer pollen and seeds, allowing the plant to grow and produce food. Without bees pollinating, many plants would eventually die
The Canada Goose The Branta Canadensis, better known as the Canada Goose is a magnificent bird which can be found all over North America. People from all over North America look towards the sky when the Canada Geese go honking overhead in their trademark "V" formation, and because they nest all over Canada
Cherp, cherp i hear, as i slowly maneuver myself around my shell, i am so sick of this tiny cramped place i have been stuck in what seems like ages,i know how much my legs want to stretch out and my body wants some fresh air (Because the air in this shell is well past its expiry date.)
Once I have examined the eggs, I will then take them out of the containers and place them on a paper towel. Once I have dried the eggs off, I will start to test each one to determine how high each one can bounce and which one will break first. I will do this experiment by dropping each egg no more than 2 inches from a tabletop. I will make a note of how many bounces it took before each egg broke. I will record this on my data sheet. Once I have completed this experiment, then I will be able to answer the question I have.

In Emily Martin’s article, "The Egg and the Sperm: How Science Has Constructed a Romance Based on Stereotypical Male-Female Roles" she explains how scientists research is biased between the male and the female reproductive biology. The article focuses on the role of the egg and the sperm and the contrast
