The Egyptian culture is very fascinating, especially for me since my heritage is made up of many parts, but the largest is Egyptian. Surprising enough, modern day Egypt has not been around for very long. Egypt first became independent from the British occupation on June 18, 1953. Egypt has changed from ancient times when it was ruled by pharaohs, to being ruled by many different countries, and groups. A major event that Egypt has been part of was when they found King Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1992. Another major event Egypt was part of was the Arab Spring. The Arab Spring was a wave of pro-democracy protests and uprisings that took place in the Middle East and North Africa in 2010 and 2011. Egypt has a very interesting history, and it’s history is fascinating to learn about.

I chose the planet Venus. Venus was named after the Roman Goddess of love and is one of the only planets named after a woman.
