For that reason, Skyrim is also an adventure and open-world game. There will be no invisible walls and loading screens common in linear design. Players can begin the story, learning more about the world, and they could also ignore the main quest to explore the world their own way. There are some constraints like several missions in the open world will depends on the main quest. On top of this, players can choose how to perceived in this massive world of dragons and giants. Players could travel around the worlds and interact with objects in the game; they could explore the world through the side quests, the main story or by themselves. However, there are also differences in these game. In GTA V and FallOut 4, the game take place in the modern world, and players combat mostly through guns, but in Skyrim, players use melee attack and magic, and enemies could appear anywhere in the map. Although The Witcher look similar to Skyrim, there are several unique factors in Skyrim that The Witcher doesn’t have like player could craft items for themselves, and Skyrim is more freedom than The Witcher. One such combination is the “fantasy-adventure” genre; This genre can be defined as narratives in which an otherworldly figure or situation interrupts the human real world or a human is a part of an otherworldly lifestyle. There are several different genres to choose from for entertainment. One genre is an Epic which is a bizarre story with a lot of unbelievable happenings. A good example of an epic is Raiders of the Lost Ark.
In both the movie and book, Ender’s Game offers a great variety of events. Both were very interesting pieces, but they were told in different ways. There was things in both versions that made it unique and have its own spin to the story. In addition, there were some similarities and differences that could be seen, and others that were hardly recognizable. This shows us that we can’t just skip the book and watch the movie because it is different in its own way.

Joseph Campbell has a theory called The Hero’s Journey in where an individual is shown in a mundane world, called to an adventure, and goes on the adventure. In the adventure, the individual goes on the path of trials that consisting of making new friends, new mentors, new enemies, facing new challenges, gaining new skills, and new knowledge. When the individual comes back to their mundane world, they are the master of two worlds through their new experiences they've gained in the adventure. The Hero’s Journey has been repeated in literature and films through many years: two examples that have The Hero’s Journey are the films, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
The reason why i chose this game is because as a Star Wars fan i could not imagine what it would be like to play an actual Star Wars video game, i was drawn in by the fun Lego design and then stayed for the tricky but fun game play. All of these adventures take place in the Star Wars galaxy, within the game you will be able to travel to your destination of choice. When you begin the game you only have the option of being Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui Gon Jinn, or C3P-O, you will be able to switch characters among these 3, each of them have their own special talents which will come in handy for different missions. The purpose of this game is to achieve each of the missions at the begining of each chapter, usually you will have to fight your way through and use the force to enable door and hatches
choose from. They all have different hair and clothes, but most of the avatars are boys. In the game there are lots of obstacles to overcome. One of the harder obstacles are Baddies. Baddies are bad guys that can do anything from zapping to punching you which cause you to lose health. The characters in move around in the game by the arrow keys, up key to jump and left and right keys to move from left to right. All characters in Lava La La Land move on the x and y axes. The characters reach the next level once they make it across the first three stages without losing all their life.
At the beginning, a player will choose one kind of characters like high-elf, wood-elf, redguard, or breton,.... Each character type will have some weakness and advantages like redguard will be good at using one handed weapon, but bad at using magic. High elf and wood elf will be good at using magic but can not use weapons. The character that players choose will response for each obstacles that they face in the game. The dragons and bandits in the game will be stronger since the character’s strength increases. This keep players from getting too bored of defeating their enemies. Moreover, the critical things that keep the game balance is the operation rule, constitutive rule, and implicit rule. These rule help the player follow the game process and using the correct logic to win the game. For example, a player could not solo face to face with a dragon, so they have to hide and wait for a good time to attack which make the game more realistic and fascinating. In Skyrim, the skill is more important than chance since most of enemies will be stronger than the player. The chance to win an enemies is very low, unless that player have a good strategies which is not always work. Usually, players need to get a better equipment by doing the side quests which is the main purpose of the game developers. Open world game is the game that players can go around the world without limitation. It is one of popular game genre for people to explore the game, but it is also one of the hardest concept for game developer because the game requires to show various places with no repetitive contents. For example, The Division, open world third-person shooter game in 2016, successfully showed destroyed New York City with natural color, but it failed to give various contents with good gaming experience. Another example, No Mans Sky, open world action adventure game, had a huge world with different planets, but it failed to show different atmosphere of environments. In this critique of Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, I will be looking at the game through a Critical Race Theory(CRT) Lens. This paper is about the CRT of the playable races and factions within Skyrim and the underlying racial tones portrayed. I have organized this paper into a couple of different parts. The first is enough information to establish an understanding of the narrative of the game. Secondly, I will cover some basic ground of Critical Race Theory and how I will be relating certain parts of Skyrim to it. After that, I will dive into two subjects from the game. One about a city and its segregated population, and the phase of “Skyrim is for the Nords.” I conclude with my thoughts and understand of CRT and Skyrim.
Dark Souls II is an example of both emergent and progressive game play. The progressive gameplay comes from the game levels being pre-designed. The narrative of Dark Souls II is an example of a purely emergent narrative because the player is in control of how they unfold the plot. I would guarantee that most players couldn’t even tell you what the plot of the game was if asked after a play through. In order to play the game players do not even have to know the plot of the story.
