I think Eliza pass the test. Within the base of script, Eliza can give responses for non-directional questions. Though Eliza can’t truly understand the conversation, it can make illusion of understanding. In Turing Test, if a machine can make interrogator believe it is a human, it passes. Eliza gives illusion of engaging in the program, which shows that it passes the Turing
I lay awake on a freezing night; As cold as an arctic snowstorm, and as dark as a planet with no sun. My eyes were open as wide as a deer's in front of a moving vehicle. There was one thought in my mind, one thought only, the love of my life. Her long silky hair, her smooth, tanned skin, her pristine beauty and her effervescent, godlike personality were all I ever desired; she was as sweet as a honeycomb and as unique as a sparkling snowflake in a vast blizzard. Absolutely immaculate, absolutely flawless was our relationship; or so I thought. There was only one problem, one only; it seemed as though no matter how hard I endeavoured to fulfil her desires, I just couldn't. For I had endured thousands of long
Melinda’s teachers are the Hairwomen, Mr.Neck, Mr.Freeman, and The Spanish teacher. Hairwomen looks like a monarch butterfly because the tips of her hair is orange and her hair is always covering her face. Mr.Neck is a mean old man that has an eye on her. Mr.Freeman is
Florence Kelly worked hard in the fight for just labor laws and the rights of women. She worked hard in between the years of 1859-1932, successfully helping destroy the abuse of child labor. During her years of fighting the end in child labor and women’s rights she writes a speech and uses many rhetorical devices deeply to persuade her audience, two of which are repetition and oxymorons. To remind the audience of the speech, the most important parts of the speech Kelly uses repetition, while Kelly uses oxymoron to show how she has the need to express her sarcasm through irony. In the Florence Kelly speech, which she wrote in July of 1905, Kelly explains who works in the factory, adults and children, and the difficulty of working in the factories.

Throughout Lizzie’s development, we are able to see that although she may be young, she is still quite mature in certain aspect. She is able to feel empathy for her friends, knows when to make up for her behavior, distinguish between who she or should not interact with, as well as understand and incorporate her mother's advice when dealing with certain situations. For instance, when she interacts with other in a cyber website, she is able to tell what boys are interested in a conversation with her and when others were interested in webcam sex. Also when she told her mother that she made out with her boyfriend, she understood her mothers reasoning in as to why she should not let her boyfriend touch her body. She also demonstrates maturity when her and her boyfriend break up and being okay with the relationship ending.
English was the language of America and was a very important aspect. People needed to be able to communicate to survive. So Mr. Shimerda was very eager for Antonia to learn English. If Antonia learned how to speak English, she could translate what Mr. Shimerda and the other people who spoke English. Mr. Shimerda placed a book in Jim’s grandmothers hand. It was a book that had the bohemian alphabet and also the English alphabet. He said sternly and earnestly “teach teach my Antonia”.
Secondly, how would you be able to express yourself, without words to do so? Without a voice, the ability to spread thoughts and ideas is taken. Melinda first undergoes an example of how powerful her voice could be, in a heated social studies debate, where while the class watches, a model student named David refuses to stay silent by his arrogant teacher. As the book reads on page 56, “As a citizen, and as a student, I am protesting the tone of this lesson as racist, intolerant, and xenophobic.” Speaking back to a person of higher authority than you is never an easy task, and David managed to stand up for a cause that he believes in, through the usage of powerful words. This quote shows how speaking out for what you believe in is key to expressing
The Earth, the most important thing to all living organisms. The Earth provides organisms with plants that produce food to eat The earth provides with water to drink. Earth has been a giving planet. Everything organisms have needed to survive, and thrive, was provided by the natural world around us: food, water, medicine, materials for shelter, and even natural cycles such as climate and nutrients. Specifically humans would do anything to protect this commodity. However recently many things have occurred during the past few hundred years of the existence of Earth. the Industrial Revolution start of all the problems, it resulted with a large production of commercially advertised items, due to the large demand

On August 1588, Queen Elizabeth I addressed her speech at Tilbury Camp before the attack of the Spanish Armada. Queen Elizabeth encouraged support and confidence in herself and within her troops, even knowing they were at a disadvantage. She formed a special bond with her troops, knowing that she was the leader and had faith in them, and they had faith in her. She gives her troops full out encouragement and strength, and includes everybody as a unit by stating “we” through her speech. The appeal of ethos is shown in her speech, by providing and gaining support from her troops, wanting to make sure they’re at their best ability and mindset for preparing to go into attack.
At the end of Allison Graham's speech, she challenged the viewers to avoid the use of their cell phone for one hour a day. I attempted this challenged for four days and struggled the first and ended up picking up the phone in under ten minutes. The habit of using phones like they are your lifeline is something that needs to acknowledged for its negative impact on society. My second day of attempting this challenge went better especially once I realized that my whole life didn't revolve around my phone and the technology around me. I went a whole two hours without checking my phone and it felt great being able to complete activities without stopping to check my phone. Technology is a topic that is said to be an important part of a thriving
Anyone with a Facebook page most likely remembers when this research was released. I remember seeing articles all over Facebook about the “wonder woman” pose. I saw these articles as I scrolled through Facebook, but I never took the time to look at one of them. I never stopped for long enough to even wonder if the research was valid. Listening to Amy Cuddy’s Ted Talk I realize that that might have been a mistake. She presents her research in such a believable and relatable way that it is impossible not to wonder if changing one’s body language can change one’s life. She engages the audience from her first sentence and by the time she tells the story of her car accident I couldn’t help but believe her. If she was able to come back from such a horrific accident than anything is possible. It resonated with me very deeply that she was in fact able to use the power pose to fake it until she became it. It also resonated with me that she was able to pass on that gift to her student and now to the audience and to the world. She seemed like she genuinely wanted to help every single person who feels like they don’t belong. The only thing
A.) What if you realized Lily is trying to adapt to you when she says, “Don’t let my position as group leader keep you from expressing your own emotions. What do you really think about my idea? What would you say?
This is a speech of historical and political nature that was delivered by Queen Elizabeth I of England to the Troops at Tilbury in Essex on 9 August 1588 for repelling the invasion by the Spanish Armada.
Emma Watson, best known as a leading actress in the Harry Potter series, gave a speech titled “Gender equality is your issue too” during a HeForShe campaign at the United Nations headquarters in New York City during on September 20, 2014, in attempt to raise awareness about gender inequality. Throughout the speech, Watson attempted to persuade the audience in joining the HeForShe campaign by providing examples of those who have been subject to the burdens of gender inequality – however, this speech could be considered problematic due to Watson’s lack of credibility and failure to include all types of people in our society.
