After graduating Anacortes High school I plan on attending a four year private liberal arts university. I will be pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. My main interest is a specialty in pediatrics. Following a month stay at Children's Hospital after enduring emergency surgery and a difficult recovery I decided nursing is what I'm meant to do. The nurses inspired me, and I hope that I can help a family and child in the same way that they helped
The college offers students a basic college education and also has one of the best nursing programs in the state. Since I'm a REaCH student the classes are free and costly effective. Which means I am able to receive a free education, free book rentals, and free tutoring. So I've saved hundreds or thousands of dollars, all I have to

The Mythbusters tested the idea that driving while talking on a cell phone is just as dangerous as driving drunk. To test this, they had two people attempt the same driving course three times: once sober with no distractions, once sober while distracted by a phone conversation, and once intoxicated. The independent variables in this experiment are, therefore, the use of a cell phone and the driver’s alcohol level. The dependent variable is the driver’s ability to successfully complete the course, including stopping on time and avoiding the cones outlining the course.
During my naturalistic observation, I was at my sister’s softball game at the field behind Bridgeport Middle School. There were two identical twins little girls, who were three years old, playing together in the practice batting cage. In the beginning, they were walking around together, eating popsicles while they watched two other older kids, a boy and a girl most likely around the age range of five to seven, chasing each other. The older kids were playing tag and invited the twins to join them. From their facial expressions, it was obvious they were thrilled to play with them; however they were hesitant to run and chase the older kids. They stood at the starting location and watched as the other kids raced back and forth, and had to move
The first reason I decided to go to ECCC is because it offered me a scholarship to pay for my tuition here and a few other smaller scholarships. When I was looking for a school to go to the scholarship for tuition played a major role in a decision. I had other offers from other schools, but this school
Universal College is the college I prefer to attend because: I am going to graduate with high grades to contribute to the college and make this university look good, I will accomplish nursing school , and also participate in cross country and track. Firstly, I will contribute by getting good grades of passing or higher. This will be possible because I have gotten at least a 3.5 GPA throughout high school and rarely get distracted away from school work. Getting my GPA to a 3.5 or higher should prove that I will contribute to the college and be a good fit for Universal College. In addition, I hope to obtain my master’s degree or a higher degree in the medical field for my major. The way I would accomplish this is by focusing on school work because
Hawaii Pacific University has one of the best nursing programs and I was also informed that they would help me find a job when I have completed the program. I also chose to go to Hawaii Pacific University because it was a college close to home. I got the opportunity to explore the campus beforehand as well and I thought that the Hawaii Loa campus was incredibly beautiful and green which reminded me a lot like my home in Kauai. Because of this, the campus made me feel more at home and I thought it would help my transition into college much easier. Even though it is close to home I can still experience living on my own and becoming independent. Another reason I chose to come to Hawaii Pacific University was because of the smaller class sizes. The class sizes are smaller than other universities and I thought this was better for me because it gives me a better opportunity to have one on one conversations with the professors when I need that extra help or tutoring. I was excited to come to Hawaii Pacific University because it had many great opportunities and everything that I needed to fulfill my dreams of becoming a
Growing up with high expectations my mind has always been set on the idea of college. However when thinking of the “right” college for my future, I never knew If I would be able to fully commit and choose which one was best for me. I wanted something that would be comfortable for me that also meets my criteria that would make the college transition a bit easier. Since I’m going into something new, my decision would end up being based on the class sizes, the costs being affordable, the majors and degrees available for Nursing, and the location and how close it is to my family. It was a hard decision however one school had it all, which is why I’ve decided to further this chapter of my life at West Texas A&M University.
Maryville University is one of the top rated schools for the nursing program. My whole life I have planned on attending nursing school no matter how difficult the curriculum. I worked very hard in high school to keep a GPA which would impress many schools. School has always been a big and important part of my life. After researching schools with a high rated nursing program, Maryville University came upon my screen. I immediately scheduled a visit and after visiting, I completely fell in love with the campus and the faculty. A few days after my visit to Maryville I received an email stating I was accepted into the nursing program. Maryville was the only college I applied to and was the only college I planned to attend no matter the circumstances.
I am interested in attending Alvernia for many reasons. I have heard many great things about it from my parents and at college fairs held at my high school. It is also a Catholic school, and I have attended Catholic school for 13 years of my life, so attending this school would be a comfortable environment for me. This school is also close to home, so this means I would be able to come home frequently and visit my family and friends, which is something that is very important to me Alvernia also has an excellent Physical Therapy program, which I would like to be a part of. This program can educate me and help lead me on a successful career path. Alvernia can help to shape me as a person and give me the right oppurtunities to prepare me for
The institution that I have decided to attend is the University of Central Florida. The main reason why I chose this school was because it will help me save money and I won’t need to travel anywhere to get my degree. Another big reason as to why I chose this school is because they have many great programs that will help me be better prepared when I begin my career such as their Modeling, Stimulation, and Training Epicenter which is used to prepare nursing students with different types of scenarios that they might face while working and also helps them work hands on rather than watching someone else do the job. UCF was also a good choice because their Medical Mission trips could help me and other nursing students travel to other places in the
This science fair project will test which antacids are most potent in neutralizing lemon juice. When an acid and a base combine the base will neutralizing the acid in a chemical reaction; this is how antacids work as well. Antacids are substances that will neutralize stomach acidity which in return relieves heartburn, indigestion, or stomach pain.
The overall purpose of the lab is to have the students practice designing an experiment, gathering data, and then analyzing that data to form a conclusion using the scientific method. It also served to understand key terms such as hypothesis, dependent variable, and independent variable. The specific objective of this lab is to determine whether certain human body parts experience allometric or isometric growth. Allometric growth defines when certain parts of an organism grow at unequal rates in comparison to its whole, while isometric growth is when all parts of an organism grow at the same rate in comparison to the entire organism. The specific purpose of the lab is to determine whether or not specific human body parts experience allometric or isometric growth by comparing the ratios of height to two specific body parts, in the students’ case the right hand length and head circumference, in students and newborns. The students formulated the tentative answer that if a team of four compared their height to right hand length ratio, as well as, their height to head circumference ratio, to those of a newborn’s, then the students will discover that the right hand and head experience allometric growth in humans.
My first day of observations had finally arrived. Filled with excitement, I opened the doors to Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, and walked into the front office to sign in as a guest for the day. I made my way to the second grade wing to do my first observation for my field experience report. The second grade instructor greeted me as I entered her classroom, with a big bright smile I found made her classroom warm and inviting.
