Elvis Presley better known as the king of rock n roll and Michael Jackson better known as the king of pop, both are beyond iconic and have become some of the most famous musicians in history. Two words to describe these amazing musicians are simply talented and influential. The two may be known as the kings but they have a lot more in common than that, as well as many differences.
Michael Jackson first started his career in 1964. He was the lead singer in a group with his four brothers. The group was called the Jackson 5. The Jackson 5 started out performing locally in their home town Gary, Indiana. They then went on to win a talent show, where the winner would open for Bobby Taylor a couple nights later. Bobby Taylor’s promoter knew the group was unique and went out of his way to get them heard by Berry Gordy, Motown records founder. …show more content…

He was addicted to prescription pill, just like Michael. The last few years Elvis lived a life of depression, loneliness, and obesity. Elvis’ step brother has claimed Elvis would pass out at the dinner table, due to being under the influence. When he would pass out they would have to pull the food out of his mouth so he would not choke. On August 16, 1977 Elvis was found on his bathroom floor unconscious. He suffered a heart attack, due to his serious drug problem. When they completed his autopsy, they found he was not in the best of health, he had an enlarged colon that had feces in it. The feces in his colon was probably there for four to five months. His autopsy also stated that elvis had eleven different prescription drugs in his system. Also in his system, he had ten times the prescribed manner of codeine Due to this the Tennessee medical board began investigating Elvis’ doctor George Nichopoulos. The board found he prescribed Elvis over 10,000 doses of pills in an eight-month period in 1977. Dr. nick was suspended for three months, then in 1995 his license her permanently
