As a nation we have seen numerous of natural and manmade disasters since biblical times causing the rise and fall of nations, countries, and cities. Scientist, archeologist, along with other world renounced citizens has made acclimation as to why, and how these disasters have and will occur. From a modern prospective the United States government along with city, and state must organize together to ensure that the necessary resources are available during these disasters. This intel’s funding to help those in disaster area’s recover helping the community, and families.

The reliance on emergency management has become critical for Americans when it comes to responding to disasters. Changes have been occurred not only within federal management systems and services, but also among state and local governments (Rubin, 2012).
The Evolution of Federal Emergency Management
For most of the past century, the federal government’s role in Emergency Management has been expanding. With virtually every new presidential administration, the organizational forms and functions of emergency management have evolved (Rubin, 2012). Even today there is still resistance between agencies and the sharing of information which affects the American public during times of crisis, as well as have funding for those whom have suffered due to disasters. On April 1, 1979, President Jimmy Carter signed the executive order that created the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). From day one, FEMA has remained committed to protecting and serving the American people. That commitment to the people we serve and the belief in our survivor centric mission will never change (FEMA, 2016).
