Emiya Shirou, by himself, is only an average human teenager of 18 years old. Physically, this is his limit, and his speed, strength, and endurance are only that on par with a normal boy of his age. However, he does have a strange affinity in bowmanship. He has only missed one shot in his entire life, and he said beforehand that he would miss the shot. It has been over a year since he last used a bow, however, so it has degraded. Mentally, however, he has a slightly better pain tolerance due to his injuries in the past.
However, he is also a magus. This is where he differentiates from a normal boy. From a young age, he was taught as a spellcrafter by his adoptive father, Kiritsugu, although with much displeasure from the adult. He

Tracing by nature is the creation of something by visualizing it. Shirou can only trace swords effectively, because the tracing he uses is different from traditional magecraft. See, a typical mage, when using tracing, has to Analyze every centimeter of something, and force a large sum of Prana into forming it from the mind into reality. This complicated skill usually takes several minutes to accomplish correctly. But for Shirou, it is a different case, due to his Reality Marble. When Shirou uses his 'Tracing' ability, he is actually creating a sword inside of himself, and then pulling a sword from that same inner self, or his reality marble. As he Analyzes and sees more swords, they are created within his Reality Marble, ready for use. The actual taking of the sword from his Reality Marble, however, costs quite a bit of Prana, meaning he can only do it once or twice a day without pushing his …show more content…
If faced with a choice where he can't save someone, or can't help, he can literally have a mental break down. His need to save and protect others is so strong that it can actually be a danger to himself- For instance, under almost no circumstances will he allow someone to fight a battle for him. He believes he has to take things on on his own- Even if this means (Which it usually does) facing down a foe many leagues stronger than him (Which more often than not will lead to failure. He goes to such great lengths to protect other people and put others values before him that it can actually be dangerous for those around him- Jumping in the way of what he perceives are fatal blows even if they were just
The touching novel The Shiralee, authored by D’Arcy Niland, is the story of a rural worker named Macauley, who travels all over Australia by foot and is known as a swaggie. Following difficult circumstances, he unexpectedly finds himself having to raise his child named Buster whilst being a swaggie, which is no life for a child. As Buster becomes a more prominent character, she drives the plot to be more adventurous and heart warming. She follows her father around the outback without complaint and is quite courageous when protecting whom or what she loves. She is a very significant character as she changes Macauley’s perception on life and provides him with a love he has never received. Even though Macauley treats Buster harshly at certain points in the novel, she is resilient and remains loyal to him, which shows her strength and makes people admire her. She is necessary for the novels success because she adds a lot of drama and obstacles to overcome, which urges the reader want to continue on with the story.
How does an individual’s perspective of, and response to, a crisis define him or her?
"To be overcome by one's weakness is only human."(304) Other than by looking at the fight as something bigger than his individual story, he is able to undo his sense of being human, and is therefore able to contain his own craving for protection and well-being.
"A hero is someone who, in spite of weakness, doubt, or not always knowing the answers, goes ahead and overcomes anyway"-Christopher Reeve. In this book,"Crispin: The Cross Of Lead" by Avi, 13 year old Crispin, who has lived in poverty his whole life, due to the recent death of his beloved mother, had just become an orphan. When finding out he is being searched for, after being accused of stealing and murder, he is then forced to escape from his village hoping to not get caught because he was declared wolf's head. Crispin was set out on a hunt for a better life, that provided freedom and fairness. It takes a great deal of strength and courage to leave your past behind and develop a new beginning, in a new environment.
One of the significant characteristics of any survivor is selfish. An example of this is the story “Most Dangerous Game,” when Rainsford says, “I’m a hunter not a murderer. Thank You”. He does not hunt will kill anything even if he has to murder someone. Another example is on page 53 when the narrator writes, “The door opened then, opened as suddenly as if it were on a spring, and Rainsford stood blinking
However, Heroes do not worry of their own safety, instead they do not let fear stop them from reaching their goals. For instance in “Man in the Red Bandanna”, Welles Crowther an everyday equity trader sacrificed his own life to save many others. He took control in the chaotic 9/11 aftermath and led others to safety. Richard Weiss, one of the people who lived because of Crowther’s actions quotes him “I heard a voice, ‘Take this staircase.’ He was lining people up, ready to evacuate.” This quote represents Crowther’s heroism because Crowther did not hurry down, thinking of nobody but himself, disregarding the lives of all the other people in the building, but stayed behind, disregarding his own life. Furthermore Crowther remained calm and assured people,
an inescapable situation, he is able to remain level headed and find a way out. His
Decision making plays an important role in human's lives. People can ruin their lives by making wrong decisions. In literature, these people are called tragic heroes. In detail, a tragic hero is a character who destroys his life by making a judgment error. Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, includes several tragic heroes. This play tells the story of a young, depressed prince named Hamlet, who wants to get revenge on his father's murderer, King Claudius. Unfortunately, he mistakes Polonius, King Claudius's advisor, for the King and kills him. This causes Laertes, Polonius's son, to kill Hamlet in retaliation for his father's death. Although Laertes is brave, he always acts quickly and without thinking. This behavior leads to his downfall and makes him a real, tragic hero.
It doesn’t matter how crazy powerful you are, if you don’t have the courage, resolve, or better yet bravery to use your abilities, than you are no hero. A hero needs the bravery to achieve the goals they set. Achilles didn’t get involved initially for his own reasons. “I was not there. All childishness. Though distant then, Patroclus’ comrade in arms was greater far than he- and it is I who had been left behind that day beside the deep-sea ships who now have made your knees give way. He initially refused to get involved, but when someone killed his best friend, he charged into
They feel a moral obligation to do what is right for those who are close to them. I believe they are in a mix between stages three and four, with some possibly moving into the postconventional level. This is what Mr. Dulane is trying to teach them, that you can succeed regardless of the hardships you
Heroism is a concept that has been explored via the works of countless diverse cultures throughout history. The definition of a hero, however, can never be strictly pinned down. It is a title we all show varied personal insight on. In this case, perhaps there is no such thing as a hero, just fictional characters who often live up to unrealistic standards. In this world, a hero to one can reasonably be antagonistic to another.
Big Hero 6 The main character in Big Hero 6 Hiro is a young teenager wise beyond his years but still has the heart of a boy often being cocky and arrogant at times. However, throughout the movie his most valuable traits that appear are his extreme intelligence and his undying loyalty to his companions or causes. Hiro was highly advanced at a young age often skipping some grades to advance his education and eventually graduating at a young age of 13. His love of science and technology led him into a world of bot-fighting.
Everyone has to make decisions, but making them becomes even more difficult when you are in the spotlight. In, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, there are many decisions to make, like when Caesar came back from Rome, he was offered the crown three times but denies it. He does this because he wants to feel needed, Brutus and the other conspirators realized what Caesar was doing and that he had the chance to be dangerous. With the help of Cassius’s letters, Brutus joined the conspirators, and they made a plan to kill Caesar. Caesar thought that all of these people were his friends and felt betrayed when they killed him. Five main points make someone a tragic hero: they are physically or spiritually wounded, which resulted in their death, a leader of men, learns something
Another example is when Charlie witnesses the fight between Brad’s football buddies and Patrick and says “ That’s when i got involved, i just couldn’t watch them hurt Patrick even if things weren’t clear yet” (Chbosky 151). The fight between patrick and Brad’s football buddies can clearly be seen as an unfair fight. Charlie notices this and despite knowing there was a chance of him getting hurt, he still sacrifices his own life to protect his friend. This can be influenced by his family’s natural instinct to protect one another.
A perfect example that would correlate directly with this notion of heroicness would be Phillip Bullard, a 13-year-old boy, living in the town of Biloxi. Bullard, was much younger then Zeitoun, but possessed the same courageousness and caring as him, when acting at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Now, just like Zeitoun's circumstances, Bullard also had certain obstacles to make matters even tougher for him. First off, his mother, grandmother, and his brother couldn't swim, so naturally Bullard knew that he needed to take quick action in order to help save them. On top of that, the last of his family members were a young infant, who would surely not be able to be directed to safety on its own. Now, after taking a quick moment to scout out the seemingly impossible odds of this situation, Bullard instilled sheer confidence that was unlike anything he'd even imagined he had the potential to unleash, and that was "pure heroism unlike anything you'd see in a 13 year old boy his age"(Carnes 74). This confidence that Bullard had instilled in him, was of the same heroicness and resilience that Zeitoun had shown when he was trying that save the old woman from drowning. Bullard didn’t show any sign of giving up, regardless of how the odds were stacked against him. Instead, he rose up to the challenge, and used his intelligence in order to figure out the
