Let me tell you about a day that I had! It was one of those emotional roller coaster-type deals. By the end of the day, I was drained physically and emotionally. I didn 't know if I was coming or going, I was a total wreck. Some things I 'm used to happenin’ but when foolishness gets involved; well, that 's when the shit hits the fan. What I hate the most is when someone throws something back in your face, after choosing not to listen. But what puts the icing on the cake is hearing those four words, “I told you so.” It 's on the top of my list of the worst things to hear when I 'm already feeling fucked up for not heeding the warning signs. Well, my “I told you so” warnings came from the constant chit chat of my best friend, Brina. She consistently kept telling me that my man, her cousin, was a cheater. Of course, being in love, nose-wide-open, stuck-on-stupid and nailed-down-shut, prevented me from seeing the entire picture. I would not have believed her even if she handed me all the cards from the game Clue revealing that he was like Ms. Scarlet in the library with the candlestick was the actual culprit. Shit, put your cards on the table, show me. Put it in my face, prove it to me; inconclusively, and without-a-shadow-of-a-doubt, what the real deal is. Her scenarios were drilled in my psyche at every opportunity she got. Damn, was she relentless when it came to the hint dropping and wisecracking. Well, she told me so. I think I would have saved face and myself…
