My family I know love me and will help me reach any goal I set but are probably the last people I would go to to for emotional support only because while they mean well they can be more critical of the choices I

I had to learn how to process my emotions without drinking. That begun when I had a chance to talk to my biological mother about how I felt when I was removed out of her care, and how I felt growing up without her. I learned how to express my feelings appropriately to the people that needed to hear it, and to stop bottling up my emotions. While dealing with my addiction I had support from my daughter father who was always there to talk to me, process my feelings with, and help me find healthy ways to cope. I would have never thought that one of my main support systems would be my mother. Even though she was not there for me growing up she has become a great-grandmother to now my two children. My siblings are very supportive. Especially my sisters
The article looks at four different communities and how they all impact mental health. The overall theme of the article is the importance of communities and how they influence mental health. Although when going into treatment the patient is informed that the treatment they’re seeking is for themselves and only themselves. However, the strong pull from the people around them make it so that the treatment the patient is receiving in the end they think was done for those around them. For example, in the great plains Indians subheading it touches on how at the end of a session that was completed, the indigenous people noted how they were doing it for their families. In the article, “The healing power of heritage,” the strong pull that communities have on individuals seems to positively correlate with better mental health.

All of theses service helps with the mental status of the person by providing information on where they could get further help to having somewhere safe to go when something happens.
The group setting that was chosen in regards to this paper is known as a support group or self-help group. The support groups that I have chosen to attend are completely anonymous to ensure the protection of each of their members. The groups will often share a common goal and purpose in life. While they are not considered therapy, the groups are often therapeutic and educational in nature which keeps members motivated to attend each meeting (Gladding, 2016).
