Employee Development Report Introduction Currently the company employees a group of highly qualified engineering staff that collectively has many years of experience. The company also employs support staff that includes graduates and work experience students that despite not having a lot of experience bring new and innovative ideas to the table. Research Learning and development is one of the most important aspects of people's lives and work. A lot of people see training as an activity that produces the product or outcome of learning and learning is normally viewed as new information, skills and competencies or capabilities. In this culture, people greatly value learning. Yet, despite our having attended many years of schooling, many of us have no idea how to carefully design an approach to training and development (All About Training and Development (Learning and Development), n.d.). Instructional design (ID) is only a small part of the complete learning experience. The speed of information development goes beyond courses as the primary delivery device of learning, testing established ID. "Alternatives to courses, like learning networks and ecologies, are developing as an informal learning approach. Designers and organizations receive substantial benefits to acknowledging informal learning, and initiating a focused design approach" (Siemens, 2005).
