The government runs public sector consists of the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, the National Health Council, the Social Security Treasury, and the National Health Insurance program, which is the main public insurer. There is an immense gap between the services provided by both sectors. Public health hospitals are commonly overwhelmed by a large number of patients and minimal resources.
