I have learned a great deal in ENG 110. I would like to summarize several of the key points from the session, including “Ockham’s Razor”, definition and process, writing a thesis statement, setting and reaching goals, and comparing and contrasting. Additional key points I learned from this session include making research relevant, avoiding run-ons, comma splices and fused sentences, the pro mind set and the key points of writing. When writing is best to use simple explanations and to define and explain the process. Goals need to be set and adjustments may need to be made in order to stay on track and reach them; in writing the thesis statement should be supported by the evidence from the paper. Comparing and contrasting presents both sides of an argument and discloses the whole story rather than just part of it. Words should be spelled correctly and if necessary clearly defined. The person may be dizzy or faint (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2015). The first thing you should do is call 911. When treating a person in shock you should lay the person down and elevate the legs above the level of the body unless the leg is broken or it causes pain or further injury. It is important to keep the person still and not move them unless necessary. If the person does not have any signs of life then CPR should be administered. Tight clothing should be loosened and the person should be covered with a blanket. Do not give the person anything to drink or eat. The person should be turned to their side if they vomit or are bleeding from the mouth to prevent chocking (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2015). When treating a casualty one should assume they are in shock and not wait for the symptoms to occur. This could save the life of the person (Check and Treat for Shock,
This week I learned that when someone comes in looking for assistance you call the hotline specialist, or the outreach case manager and they will send someone down as soon as they can. If the person looking for assistance does not want to wait I should give them a card with the crisis hotline number on it.
If you were a Member of Congress (or a senior staff member of one), what additional statutory authorities/legislation would you propose, and why, to enable homeland security officials (at any level of government) to function more effectively? From which perspective or research (refer to course readings) would you base your proposal to substantiate it beyond political opinion?
Flame Test Lab Questions: 1. What color of light is the lowest in energy? According to our physics class last year, the color with the lowest energy is red because it has the lowest frequency and the longest wavelength out of all colors. We can conclude that calcium chloride has the lowest energy.
As the Fall 2017 term comes to end, I look back on what I have accomplished in this class. English 102 – Composition II was one of the most challenging and toughest class I have taken at UW-Stout, but feel as though it has helped me to improve my writing skills. Even before the semester started the feeling of anxiety had taken over, as writing has never been my strongest skill, but stayed positive and confident I would be successful. Much to my surprise, my instructor, Michael Critchfield quickly addressed that this class would not be easy and amazingly changed my views of writing throughout the entire semester.
For a start, having the opportunity to be part of the SOCW 6371 Community and Administrative Practices class has broadened my mind-set when viewing social work practices through a macro lens. In addition, I have learned the skill of assessing the community as the target population/concentrated area via a needs assessment. Equally important, realizing the magnitude of work/planning it takes to formulate a program or redesigning one has made me understand the importance of why we should acquire the proper training and administrative practices to be able to lead organizations/agencies.
The movie I will write about is the The Purge Anarchy. I would say have more than one genre. I would say that the genres are action, horror and thriller. Action movies are movies that have a tremendous impact, continue high energy and lots of physical activities. Horror movies are unsettling movies designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience. These are types of films known to promote intense excitement, suspense, a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, anxiety, and nerve-wracking tension. Thriller and suspense films are
When I was young in primary school, I was nine years old; I was a very quiet and shy girl outside with strangers. When my mom and dad had their friends at my house, or any one comes to visit us, I was still shy, but in our home I was very active and naughty, I was playing everywhere, I was playing with my sisters and I was born in a big house

First Year Seminar is a beneficial, getting started-like course provided by West Coast University during the first term of the program. Since the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is very rigorous this course is helpful in adjusting new students, such as myself, to a very demanding, fast-pace program. This class focuses on topics that help students organize and understand oneself and the mission of WCU mission to achieve the greatest success as a student. In my Signature Assignment term paper I will focus on my experience with FYS and what information I’ve gained to help me understand my learning style, strengths and weaknesses I have as a student, how working collaboratively benefits me and how I will go about achieving success at WCU.
For my observation hours, I attended a first grade classroom at the Meadow View Elementary in Alabaster. My cooperating teacher's room was full of posters which she had created that featured strategies for counting, reading, and writing. She had created small reading corner, a another corner was Scholastic news, and a side of the room was dedicated to computers and iPads. My cooperating teacher had a total of nineteen students in her classroom and she had numbered all of them one through nineteen, randomly. She had arranged the student tables in small groups of four with an assigned table number to collaborative instructions and she had assigned the students according to heterogeneous groups, but during reading she had the students in homogeneous groups. My cooperating teacher had her table at the back of the room in order for her to see the entire classroom from her desk.
The seventh student learning objective assures that students will be able to communicate effectively. One of the ways that Sherat covers the requirements for SLO 7 is her job at Suncoast Telecommunication which is a telecommunication company with long distance phone services. For Sherat’s job position which is the Customer Service Representative, she is required to effectively communicate to customers and resolve customer issues using the computer system. For instance, Sherat had to help a customer who was having issues with call drops to Srilanka. To effectively communicate to the customer, Sherat took the time to examine the customer’s issue and fixed the issue in 10 minutes by changing the server immediately in order to call in Srilanka.
When the first epistle of Peter was written, being a Christian was something that was very hard to do. It was even difficult for the author because of the problems they faced. But as Christians, it is our duty to do good things. Yes, we are not perfect, yes we all sin; but we try out best to do what is right. Though sometimes bad things happen to good people. Look at Jesus. He did what was right and abided by God and in the end, he got crucified.
I have learned how to properly articulate and develop a thesis statement, how to write while keeping the audience in mind, and how to engage in the steps of the writing process in English composition 110.
Every fourth-year teacher trainees will have to conduct practicum and will work under the guideline of their associate teachers and supervisors. The purpose of doing the practicum are to put training into practice, to become accustomed to teaching in the tertiary school settings, and to develop and expand each trainee’s teaching expertise and confidence. In the following paragraph, I will express what I have learnt from doing practicum to reflect on my past teaching strengths and weaknesses from the teaching practicum.
If one is assessing others around he should ask what they are feeling then checks his breathing, and look for any visible wounds on the body. If there are wounds on the body apply pressure with a shirt or gauze if available, apply the material available till the bleeding is no longer visible. If the persons leg is broken or fractured, one can use a branch to stabilize and create a make shift cast in a survival situation [the complete sas survival manual]. If sunburned keep cold water on it and wrap it up
