For my interview I chose my English professor because she is somewhat a harsh critic when it come to our papers and in class work. Instead of making an office appointment she asked me to do this interview after class. To start off my interview I thanked her for her time and the availability to meet with her. I then moved into the first question, “What colleges did you attend?” Elaine Minamide attended community college at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, Ca. where she earned her Associates degree. She speaks very fondly of her Community college days remembering the times when she would enroll into a class and then change her mind, dropping the course, which we all have experienced at some point in our college career. Minamide then transferred to Cal State Long …show more content…
After completing her Bachelors, she transferred again to UCLA for their graduates’ program in Applied Linguistics. Having answered the two questions in the first explanation of her college background I quickly moved on to the third,” Why did you choose your major?” This is always an interesting question, some of us find our way to our major and some of us know it from the beginning but Minamide’s answer to this question was beyond my favorite reasoning, she stated, “English was my favorite subject and we all tend to gravitate towards what we love to do.” I found this interesting, in my life time I’ve only known a hand full of people who can make that statement, most like English because their so good at it, but in some ways I completely understand it. Which leads in to my last question with Minamide, “Why did you decide to be a community college instructor?” This question for me was probably the only part of the interview that I found nerve racking, in some ways this question could be taken in the wrong context. But all seemed fine, she
I interviewed Durward “Durk” Lynch he is in my field of interest where I want to work as one day. He is a Nurse Practitioner at the Vanden Bosh Clinic and at the College Clinic. To me college is like the next step of life to adulthood; it is where you get a taste of the authentic world and learn how to adjust and manage on your own. In addition, it can be a place of magnification and polished skills within a community that strives for a prosperous life with an effulgent vocation. Thus, attending college was compulsory for me in order to reach future goals, and North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) transpired to be just right for me. The distance was within range and they have an outstanding mechanical engineering program that I could solemnly benefit from. Overall, attending this university has opened many doors of opportunities that arrange with my personal and professional goals through their culture and community. Furthermore, I endeavor to put myself first and review my precedent accomplishments to strive for better while exposing myself to incipient challenges and obstacles.
Being a former student of three different universities, including the one of South Florida, then the Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and finally University
I asked her the following question about what drew her in, to attend, the University of Arizona rather than other institutes she was admitted to. She replied, “Growing up I went to ASU football games and when it came time to choose where I wanted to go, I thought about how Arizona State University was too close to home, I did not want to be a binocular distance from my parents”. The two hour drive from Phoenix to Tucson
An interview with Professor Kok was used as a foundation for the project and conformed to “preliminary research techniques” (Crosby, Diclemente and Salazar, 2006), practiced among professional health environments. This allowed the efficient planning of the overall Research Development. As the interview was a major primary source within the study, it was useful in supporting, contradicting and reinforcing ideas and concepts argued by various secondary sources. Professor Tuckweng Kok, who specialised in Clinical Virology, providing the investigative report with a professional and honest perspective of the prevalence of HIV. This credibility was reinforced, by the inclusion of specialist terminology in the interview, such as “nucleic acid sequences”,
For Interview a Professor Assignment I decided to Interview Tao Xu. He is my Chemistry professor; he is teaching for 12 years. Also, he joined the Northern Illinois University on August 12, 2006, for many reasons but one of the main reason was family and resource. In 2006 he was an assistant professor of chemistry, biochemistry and nanotechnology. In 2012 he was promoted to Associate professor. Also, currently he serves as a Resident Associate for Argonne National Laboratory in the Materials Science Division.
Ashlyn Edwards is an elementary school grades teacher and is licensed to teach grade levels K-6. She currently resides in Texas and has taken some time off from teaching to be with her family. Before taking the time off, Ashlyn worked in two different schools, one of which was in Georgia and the other in Kansas. In Georgia, she taught Kindergarten and in Kansas she taught grade 1. I chose to interview Ashlyn because I had met her several years ago through another friend and I found out she was a teacher at that time. Even though I had not got to know more about Ashlyn before this interview, I was hopeful that she would be able to provide me some insight into what it is like being a teacher and the ups and downs of the job. I asked Ashlyn five questions related to her job and she provided answers that not only guided me but also helped me to understand ways that I can become prepared to teach.
Do you think Serge’s skills were assessed adequately? Do you think he was correctly identified as learning disabled? Why or Why not?
All of my life, I have worked hard to improve myself. I was born in Nigeria and received a bachelor's degree in electrical electronic engineering. Afterwards, I was employed in a variety of capacities in the fields of IT. This was very exciting, because Nigeria is a nation that is only just beginning to enjoy the full fruits of the worldwide digital revolution. I was able to assist in building IT infrastructures from 'the ground up' in the companies where I was employed.

Thank you for the opportunity to interview for the 11th and 12th grade English/language arts position at Long County High School. I would like to describe for you my philosophy of teaching English/language arts so that you can better understand how I plan to teach students at your school. In “Vygotsky and the Social Dynamics of the Classroom,” Peter Smagorinsky (2007) writes, “thinking is a product of cultural practice and so people from diverse backgrounds often frame social situations and how to act in them differently” (p. 66). What I believe Smagornisky is concluding here is that our cultural background helps determine how we will frame our social interactions. Coming into your school as an outsider, I have little knowledge of the cultural backgrounds of your students. Therefore, my first initial aim will be one of discovery. I will need to discover what the culture of my 11th and 12th grade students is. Where do they come from? Are
In 2011, I left high school flustered. I did not know were I was headed, I couldn 't see in a sense I was in complete darkness. I left St. Catherine’s perplexed, because I had no clue what to do with my life. I believe this was partially due to the classes that I took at St. Catherine 's. I did not really have any classes that I thought that stood out to me. However, I do think that in high school i did learn to be open minded. We were always taught to ask why? And I think that it is because of this as to why I decided to become a Communications major. If you took a look at my DARS my freshman year it would inform you that I was a nursing major. At the time it seemed like a good idea to me because I liked helping people. But as time passed, I came to the realization that the Nursing major was not for me.
