I was impressed by the openness of the guest speaker and its presentation data. The most interesting part was about the next steps of Rakuten toward the globalization and Englishnization project. It is a big challenge to the top management and all employees. However, there are already impressive achievements in English skills acquiring. 3. Was “Englishnization” a good idea for Rakuten? What are the costs/benefits of this policy? “Englishnization” idea is not only the good idea. It is inevitable step toward the following development of the company on the world market. I think Mr. Mikitani’s background helped him to realize it and push the project forward. Additionally, English has been cited as the major language of international business. It is the most wide spread language in the world.
