After reading the story entitled as, “A very old man with enormous wings,” I come to know about different ideas. The story “A very old man with enormous wings” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez was written in 1968. This is a fairly small piece filled with deep meaning and imbued with light mystical notes, just in the style inherent Marquez. In the small settlement of something unusual happens: in the yard of ordinary people suddenly there is a creature, it looks like a very bad condition and the poor vagabond, but behind him are two huge badly battered wings. As quoted in the story, “He was lying in a corner trying his open wings in the sunlight among the fruit peels and breakfast leftovers that the early risers had thrown him” ((Garcia Marquez, pg. 5). The inhabitants of the village do not understand the question being, but looking at his haggard, exhausted look, peasant Pelayo, which appeared in the courtyard of an angel, decided to settle it in the house. Soon the rumor about the extraordinary strangers spreads across the country, more and more people are willing to look at the unusual creature Pelayo and his wife decide to earn some money on it. In part it is, but to a much greater extent the author focuses on the fact that miracles did not necessarily have to be beautiful.
