Introduction Environmental pollution and global warming are one of the biggest problems the world faces today. It is an issue that troubles us economically, physically and everyday of our lives in any field such as construction of buildings. This ¬express the need of green buildings which is an environmentally sustainable building, designed, constructed and operated to minimise the total environmental impacts. By using these buildings people can save money, increase comfort and create healthier environments for them to live and work, using improved indoor air quality, natural daylight, and thermal comfort. Therefore, this literature review will examine the importance, cost affordability, construction challenges and attitudinal issues of people in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kerala in India and in Malaysia. Methodology Manoj (2013), Soni (2014), as well as Lesley and Mohammed (2013) all used a qualitative approach in their research. The study area of the first article is in Ernakulam in Kerala, study area of second article is in Trissur in Kerala while the third article study was executed in whole Malaysia. Study pattern of Manoj (2013) is to conduct interviews of respondents included 210 households which comes in the category of lower and middle income households. While Soni (2014) used a descriptive-cum-analytical approach, the data collected from both primary and secondary sources are suitably analysed which helps to analyse the awareness and identify the attitudinal issues of
