Ephesians 6:15 provides what is required in protecting the agents of propulsion in conquering the kingdom of darkness. Shoes are worn to protect the wearer from the dangers posed by the many rough terrains and dangerous grounds. This can be compared with the gospel of peace that protects us irrespective of the magnitude of the trials and tribulations that comes our way. According to Callan, (2007), the gospel of peace protects believers from the tribulations and trials that may come their way. Spreading the gospel of peace involves sharing of the gospel with the non-believers with an intention of transforming them into Christians. Just like the way soldiers don’t take their protective shoes off, the passage advises Christians never to be unprepared
A Separate Peace is a short novel about a group of high school boys that live during world war two but this story has deeper more complex meaning then that can be seen from the surface. In disguise of a “coming of age” story this novel contains very familiar biblical connections. These connections include the trial of Jesus, the fall of man from perfection, and the story of Cain and Abel. Knowles novel A Separate Peace contains biblical allegories, that become evident under a close examination.
The phrase “Silence is a Form of Consent” means that if you don’t say anything to protest, then you are saying yes. In A Separate Peace, a young boy named Gene tries to kill, or at least seriously hurt, his best friend Finny because he thinks Finny is trying to pull him away from studying to make himself look better. He justifies this with the fact that he is always out with Finny doing things he doesn’t want to do when he should be working on his homework. However, he never says no to any of these things, and Finny believes that he just enjoys doing these things because he never hears otherwise. This is a very key element in the story, and is the source of most of Gene’s frustrations.
The book of Ephesians is one of Paul’s many New Testament letters, or epistles, to the Christian church still in its infancy. At the time of its writing, Paul is in Rome, imprisoned for championing the purposes of Christ and growing the church. We see numerous occurrences where Paul, being a man of little concern for the status quo, is either imprisoned or fleeing capture by Jewish or Roman officials for usurping the latter (Acts 19: 23-41). The date of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is dated 60-61A.D., depending on differing research. While this is certainly one of his epistles known as the “prison letters”, Ephesians was penned prior to Paul’s first roman
The message given by Jesus and the apostles is resoundingly clear. Whether our conflicts involve minor irritations or major legal issues, God is eager to display his love and power through us as we strive to maintain peace and unity with those around us. Our dependence on him and obedience to this call will show the power of the gospel and enable me to enjoy the personal peace that God gives to those who faithfully follow him.
29-30- “That 's what happens when we meet Jesus and are amazed by him: we go to tell others, including those who have turned against us.” This is how the gospel is spread, through people willingly and joyfully telling others
Our Lord warned his disciples to prepare for persecution to avoid anything that would give an advantage to their enemies, there could be no interferance with worldly concerns or even the appearance of selfishness and evil at all measures. Christ foretold troubles, so that the troubles would not be a surprise, to His disciples, but that they might "affirm and bring to light their faith!"
It is in these situations we have to determine our response to righteous living. We must do as Paul instructed the Corinthians and consider the effect of our behavior on our neighbor. Will our actions be a stumbling block to hinder someone from finding salvation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?
Believers have been unified in salvation by grace and are called to live like Christ.
Ephesians 6:10-16: Paul becomes aware of all the evil that stalks the church of Ephesus and he tries to make everybody aware by explaining them their own significance and identity in Christ.
In their book, The Great Commission to Worship, Vernon Whaley and David Wheeler takes an in depth look at commandment from Jesus for His followers to go out and spread the Good News of salvation. Today’s Christian seems to have a misconception about their role in evangelism. As the authors stated, “many times in Scripture it appears
In my passage Ephesian 1:15-23, this is Pauls prayer to Jesus of giving thanks, God has given us so much, and when God gives us a lot our perception can be changed based on how much we get from God, but we are blind because we can never be satisfied so we ask for more. We can build a wall of ungratefulness and never see the “light of God”.
The philosopher Max Stirner once wrote “Whoso is full of sacred (religious, moral, humane) love loves only the spook, the “true man,” and persecutes with dull mercilessness the individual, the real man. “. Stirner is considered a relatively modern guru, whose works can be contrasted with the teachings of Christianity. The word guru stems from Hindi and Punjabi word used to describe an elder spiritual teacher, more recently this has been adapted to describe influential teachers or popular experts ("guru - definition of guru in English | Oxford Dictionaries", 2017). So to what extent do the messages of Max Stirner reflect the key messages about inner peace in Christianity?
The book of Ephesians falls into the Bible, it talks about the redemptive arrangement of Christ, which is the solidarity, compromise, and recovery of all men. Ephesians was composed in two noteworthy segments: 1:3-3:21, which is viewed as philosophical, and 4:1-6:20, which advises how the devotee is to experience the Christian life. This brings together everything in Christ. The entry of Ephesians 2:14-22, falls into this first division.
The Biblical verse of Ephesians 4:25 states, “Therefore, putting away lying, let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor for we are members of one another.” (Maxwell and Elmore, 2007, p. 1465) 1. What does that mean to you in the context of your organization? Within the context of my organization, the Biblical verse of Ephesians 4:25 means to me is that there is a big difference between telling truth and telling lies, especially since I work part-time for my family-based cleaning business.
the Old Testament when it speaks of the gospel of peace. Also, shalom is directly tied to the kingly rule of the Messiah in passages such as Isaiah 9:6-7.
