As a child, it can be easy to enjoy a stress-free life in today’s world. In the mornings, the kids typically attend a school and get to learn about the world while their parents are subjected to the harsh realities of being an adult. They also get to enjoy weekends that are typically enjoyable and stress free in addition to being sheltered from the realities of life. However, things do begin to change once they become adults and are slowly ushered into joining their fellow humans as working adults. As this change occurs, they slowly begin to realize that life is not as easy and enjoyable as it seems. This period of growth can be seen as both a challenging and an enlightening part of the life of a human being. This process is something that isn’t necessarily unique to the people of this generation. In fact, this process is something that can be found in numerous works of literature from any time period. An example that stands out can be seen with Gilgamesh in The Epic of Gilgamesh. In this story, Gilgamesh goes through a major transformation as a person once he realizes that he is truly a human being. …show more content…

The story states that “Two-thirds of him was divine, one-third of him was human” (59) early on. This statement alone could be enough to emphasize the fact that his life could be seen as an easier one when compared to the life of a pure human. As a mostly divine being, Gilgamesh would have certainly been more talented and stronger than any of the humans that he would meet during his life. Gilgamesh probably used these powers to get anything he wanted whenever he wanted it as well. With all this power, it would be very easy to enjoy a simple and fun life, especially when his status as a very powerful king is taken into
