The time has come for the world to take a stand against poverty. Many people have died due to this murderous killer and I feel it should not be so. Poverty is everywhere in this world. Even in our own backyards. The world needs to eradicate this epidemic.
Poverty is a serious killer. Millions of people die from this each year. Some effects of poverty are homelessness, malnutrition and lack of education, hunger, illness and death. Homeless people are unable to provide food or shelter for themselves. People are malnourished and with poor nutrition, diseases can spread quickly and easily. This will later lead to illness. With the low immunity, they will later die of that disease and the cycle will go on. According to UNICEF, 22,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.” …show more content…

While wealthy people revel in all their luxury, one child dies every 3 seconds due to extreme poverty. How would you feel if you were one of the 800 million people who go to bed ravenously hungry each and every night? You would lay, shivering, listening to the unbearable sound of your stomach crying out in starvation, whilst billions of individuals around the world binged on excessive amounts of food. How would you feel if you knew that your extra money you spent on buying things you don’t need could have gone to charity and just might have saved a life? $1 could be worth less than a candy bar to you but it could feed a poor family for a
