Eric Patrick Clapton was an English musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist of the 1960’s, who was influenced by the legendary blues guitarist, Robert Johnson. Robert Johnson had a brief career, but inspired many rock ‘n’ roll musicians, such as Clapton. When reviewing Clapton’s songs, there are many musical attributes that come from Johnson. In fact, Clapton made an album called ‘Me and Mr. Johnson’ as tribute to Johnson, because of the impact he had on Clapton’s musical career. Clapton has been through many bands, but he always ended up leaving them because their style was not similar to his own. His musical style was rock ‘n’ roll, but the blues and Johnson’s style were always incorporated within Clapton’s songs.

His grandmother was a skilled pianist, and his mother and uncle enjoyed listening to big band music. Also, his absent father was a pianist who played in several dance bands while stationed in Surrey. Therefore, he eventually found he was also an artist. At the age of thirteen, he enrolled in the art branch of Holyfield Road School. Then at the age of sixteen, he was accepted into the Kingston College of Art with a one year probation. One day, Clapton came across Robert Johnson’s music, which influenced him to buy his first electric guitar. He later on discovered booze and was expelled from college for one year. When Clapton finished college in 1963, he started to hang around the West End of London and tried to break into the music industry as a guitarist. He joined his first band, The Roosters, that same year. Unfortunately they broke up after just a few months. After The Roosters, he joined Casey Jones and The Engineers, which unsurprisingly, he also left. He had no other choice then to work as a laborer on construction sites in order to make ends meet. Later, he joined the Yardbirds and recorded his first songs with them, but because of their pop-oriented style, he was not pleased, and left them also. There were many other bands he joined after the Yardbirds, but he was never content with them. Therefore he decided to begin a solo

Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970) was one of the most influential and important guitarists in rock n’ roll history; as a matter of fact Rolling Stone considers him the greatest guitarist of all time (Rolling Stone Jimi Hendrix: Bio). Hendrix was one of the most notable musicians in the 1960s due to his technical playing style and his unorthodox stage performing. Born in Seattle, he taught himself how to play guitar during his teen years. He was largely influenced by “...blues guitarists Muddy Waters and B.B. King and rockers such as Chuck Berry and Eddie Cochran” (Rolling Stone Jimi Hendrix: Bio). Hendrix had a preference towards the sound or rhythm and blues, and he would gain substantial experience playing in these music based bands in the early 1960s.

In this paper, I am going to discuss my experiences playing in the WNE, the bass guitar, and the one and only Willie Nelson. In the legendary WNE, I am the bass player. For this project, it took hours on end of studying the bass inside and out to become this legendary player that I dreamt of before this project. The electric bass, a mystical object that is the foundation of every song, was invented by Paul Tutmarc. Since the 1960s the bass guitar has replaced other instruments

One of the most influential figures in modern music to this day, Jimi Hendrix, was a complex and unusual man for his time. Being most well-known for his eccentric performances and style, both in fashion and in music, Jimi stood out in the western world 's very uniform Rock’n’Roll scene. Playing with his teeth, burning his guitar, rising to fame in a matter of weeks all contributed to his remarkable life. Artists such as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Patti Smith, Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits all acknowledge the profound impact Dylan had on the industry and themselves as artists. “Bob Dylan, I'll never be Bob Dylan. He's the master. If I'd like to be anyone, it's him. And he's a great writer, true to his music and done what he feels is the right thing to do for years and years and years. He's great. He's the one I look to”. [Neil Young, 2005]. Dylan encapsulated a generations hunger for change, challenged the social and political status quo but interestingly seemingly rejected this status after receiving the ‘Tom Paine Award’ from the National Emergency and Civil Liberties Committee he drunkenly questioned the role of the committee and claimed to see something of himself and everyone in JFK’s alleged assassin Lee Harvey Oswald [Andrew Loog Olham, 2005]. In 1965 The Byrds cover of his song Mr. Tambourine Man helped to propel not only The Byrds to super stardom but established the folk rock genre. [V.Bogdanov, 2002]. His verbal sophistication drew comparison to the romantic poets and much literary criticism artists still strive to attain today. His launch of Theme Time Radio Hour for XM Satellite Radio helped him to establish
