Continuing with my self promotion pieces to get PalbergWERX Design + Photography noticed in this over stimulated communications age, I began work on my second famous artistic image in history. You can read Part 1 in this series HERE.

This time I choose M.C. Escher's work 'Humanity'. Again, there have been numerous imitations and this ribbon type illustration is well known to the general public.
This is a much more challenging project as the illustration is very precise in how it is able to convey the front features of both characters as well as make a believable ribbon that shows both the volume and shape of both heads.
As I mentioned, it was important that the work was now in the creative commons, even if I was not going to use the original work in my promo piece itself. Below is the image that I achieved in my first try at this. In hindsight, I had a few issues that I didn't fix, but will highlight during this article.

The first step is finding a suitable photo - in my case, I wanted two images of myself - but, not mirrored and somewhat posed like the original Escher heads.
In my case, because I don't have long flowing hair - haha - it was easy to mask out my head from the background. This isn't strictly necessary

I began working the text in InDesign, just to find the right font combination as well as a rough layout. I soon realized that writing the text all on a single line would be much too long for the image and the result is that the text would be too small in proportion to the heads, it just wouldn't look right. When I placed the Palberg above the WERX I knew I was then going in the right direction. For the most in control I created a unique layer for each letter and then just moved them around until the composition looked right. Next it was time to customize the
In the contemplation of art, or rather the conceptually intangible definition it currently possess, it is imperative to be mindful that “art” has been utilized as a promotional device, ceremonial item, aesthetically purposed article or perhaps none of these or all. It is because of this vague term that Carolyn Dean, in her text, “The Trouble with (The Term) Art”, makes a case for the consequences of applying the term “art” in societies that lacked such a notion which also accounts for the Western-centric lens the field intrinsically utilizes when viewing non-Western art. The claim is deftly supported by the utilization of expert accounts in the subject, alternative perspectives for what is considered the current norm, and self-examining questions,
First off, I have to say in my ENTIRE professional career, I've NEVER seen such a creatively powerful professional profile picture than what you are displaying! "HATS OFF TO YOU"
Art by its nature is a subject of the philosophical, social, economic, political or religious context surrounding its creator. More often than not, a work of art addresses a specific topic or somewhat revolves around a particular person. Therefore, it is impossible to separate the context of a piece of painting, either historical or cultural, to its intrinsic value or the artwork's meaning. On the other hand, different cultures and time utilized specific conventions that govern the representation of objects of creativity. This essay highlights various pieces of art and their relationship to particular cultural, political, economic, or social settings. Moreover, it pinpoints how different times influence art presentation.
With this design I will be able to bring out his fun loving, romantic and darling personality. I want him to stand out and right away people would know by seeing his face that he is a prince. His goal is to marry the girl who rescued him and in what better way for her to know that he is a prince throughout his looks.
Done in a Baroque style the bust gives the immediate impression of beauty, youth, and strength. Moreau looks to his left, his gaze focused in the distance as if watching some event or an approaching person. The man wears an elaborately carved wig which curls over and around his shoulders. The curls are styled in artful ringlets and swirls, at the crown of his head the wig permed to either side of the central part. The longer lengths of hair spiral down past his shoulders. The bust can be viewed from all angles however, even though the wig curls down part of his back there is a lip of stone that reveals the rough underside of the marble from the six o’clock view. The way the wig is organized, blowing back from his face and neck as well as curling
This piece is very visually balanced and appealing to the eye. The designer used a gradient in the background which added to the visual appeal of the timeline. This exemplar is very well made and thought out, it is very clear that the creator did research and practice before creating their solution. The text is readable, consise, and the font relates to the overall topic of the timeline. The creater of this timeline demonstated their knowlege of photoshop through, by the use of fading, blurs, text placement , and cropping. The designer also used dates which allowed the reader to travel through the poster significantly easier. Over all I think this is a very well done solution, however the only critcizm I have for the disigner is them not fully cropping and/or blurring the last three images. This is eveident because the white of the original photo can be seen which lowers the overall visual experience of the
The two works of art that I have chosen to analyze are 1) Jordan Casteel. Miles and JoJo. 2014. Oil on canvas, 54” x 72” and 2) Aaron Fowler. He Was. 2015. Mixed media, 134” x 165” x 108”. The themes that these works of art represent in regards to the exhibit are love, family, and pain. However, they also fall into other thematic categories. The main theme that seems to apply to both “Miles and JoJo” and “He Was” is Human Experience. Additionally, these arts differ in some ways.
Mc Escher's art is very well known. Perhaps you have seen some of his art, but never actually realized whose art it was. I like how he incorporated math in his artwork, and that is one of the reason I chose him. We will be covering his not as well known childhood, later life, and his phases of art. First, we will be traveling back to the Beginning; Mc Escher's birth.
Mr. M.C. Escher known for being one of the world’s most famous graphic artiest. His art is easily being enjoyed by millions around the world today. The work design is animated cartoon with colors of orange, salmon, blue, brown, and red adding to color of attraction. It expresses four people with similarity work with different positions. As we see sometimes in life that there are certain jobs that come into similarities but with different position. In this piece of work, we see a photographer who appears taking a camera picture to a logo bar that contains only one word T. The brand name of the camera is Minolta, which is what he took a picture of a logo sign of a bar. The first person felt in his thought that he can adjust the sign of T into more delicate way to put in public as an adjustment. He presented the picture to a friend who works in the position of an Art director to see if he can adjust the sign logo into unique design and put it on public. Before the photographer took his picture to the art director, he first had to create an idea and a purpose. There are most of people who can relate this idea like the first person. It’s an ability to create an idea that has some values to their lives. People bring ideas and
I believe I met my goals with this flyer. After trying different things, I met the rhetorical situation. Although my text boxes seem too long for a flyer, they helped me include a part of my food profile. I see this flyer design being used as a promotion flyer for our business but with different text in two of the
Tessellations are are type of drawing that are formed when a shape is repeated over and over, covering a plane without any spaces or overlaps. In modern day tessellations are also known as tiling. M.C Escher is the main person and creator behind tessellations. Maurits Cornelis Escher was born in 1898 on July 17 in Leeuwarden Netherlands. M.C Escher was born in the age of modern art. Escher was known at a younger age, to visualize distinct spatial patterns. Escher was a very smart man as well and attended Harlem's School for Architectural and Decorative Arts. Later Escher found a wife, by the name of Jetta Umiker on his visit in spain and established his home in Rome.
Me and Lillie choose characters from two different animes. She choose the character Ryota Kise from “Kuroko’s Basketball”, while I choose a character named Yamaguchi Tadashi from “Haikyuu!!”. Both of these characters have simple looks, so it was fairly simple to recreate their looks. I dressed in a white tee and black shorts along with a brown wig that took nearly an hour to style and face paint freckles. Lillie dressed in an old Raiders basketball jersey and Raider basketball shorts. She styled her hair and we were done.
The use of geometric shapes in this painting allows the subject to be viewed in both a recognizable and unrecognizable state at the same time. Overall, geometric shapes and patterns play an essential role in what the viewer sees, which is further supported by a powerful color palate.
You can take shots from the back of the head, half face and side of the face to come up with incredible images that also feature the background.
