As soon as he stepped through that portal and through the other side, he could hear the crystal clear sounds of the birds in the trees. The Warblers and the Flycatchers. The Longspurs and the Grouse. Each identified by their own specific kind of cry. Arma looked upwards towards the tall and surroundings trees that spanned as far as skyscrapers and the blue sky beyond, straight down to the forest below. Normally it would have been a place for him to wander and explore, to take pleasure in but he knew he wasn't here to sight-see. Not to mention this place was no daydream. The further he walked forward, the more that fact would become apparent as the sickening stench of blood hit his nostrils, followed by the sickening stench of rotting …show more content…
Mog moved to swing the club down and towards the ground in order to splat and spear the lion all at once, but Arma dodged quickly, jumping to the side as he went tumbling in order to get away from him fast.
He had just enough time to swing to the left as that club came down again, rustling up dirt and grass in the process. Moving to dig his hands straight into the dirt, Arma sent a good amount of it at the troll's eyes, using the time he used to scratch it out to get back to his feet and closer to an open area where he could deal with him. Mog roared, unhappy that not only was his food running away from him, but that his food was challenging him as well. As soon as Mog started to lug his giant rear forward, gaining speed the more room he had to run, Arma turned and ran, moving to run himself up along one of the tree trunks like it were a simple wall to jump, reaching for a tree branch.
Leaping straight to it, he put those acrobatic skills to work as he swung himself around and around again, gaining speed and distance as he used the branch like a gymnast would a bar, giving him enough room to sail overhead the giant mass of black fur and pure rage. He timed it just right and given those lion reflexes, the strength, he let go at the precise moment to sail overhead just as that club came swinging in his direction, taking out yet another tree in the process as Arma moved his body into a full twist overhead, only
Frankenstein was a scientist who thought that the world was a secret, which he desired to discover in the scientific field. He worked to find out the relationship between humans and animals. He was attracted by the structure of the human body, any animal related with life, and the cause of life. One day, Victor Frankenstein made an experiment where he included many different human parts from different dead people. This resulted in a human being and a strange creature never seen before in life, which made Frankenstein very scared. This creature or monster was tall enough to scare people by his height and with muscles that were well proportioned.
The series Twilight Zone is a show that combines science fiction with society. Every episode ends with a shocking, unexpected twist. “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street” is an episode that informs society about the fear of prejudice and hysteria. In this episode, a loud shadow in the sky passes through Maple Street. The shadow is actually a meteor. Unexpected and strange things start to happen like the electricity and cars turning off. The people who live on Maple become very curious on what the meteor has done to the neighbors living on the street. A young boy named Tommy tells the adults that everything weird happening is because of the aliens from outer space, which he read about in a comic book. First the
Patrick Ness' A Monster Calls, is truly inspiring and an emotional novel for audiences that changes ones’ perspective towards facing death. Conor’s mother affects the main character of the story (Conor) due to the fact that she has cancer. Conor seems to be maintained and calm since Conors mom is still alive. Because of her sickness, Conor was reunited with his family once again, but he wishes they would both leave since his father and grandmother are trying to make him understand that there’s a good chance she won’t make it. The audience can only understand Conor if they understand what’s going on in his head. Overtime, this “nightmare” is shown throughout the text but is never explained until the final chapter. A nightmare that’s been
I peered around through the rain, desperately searching for some shelter, I was drowning out here. The trouble was, I wasn’t in the best part of town, and in fact it was more than a little dodgy. I know this is my home turf but even I had to be careful. At least I seemed to be the only one out here on such an awful night. The rain was so powerfully loud I couldn’t hear should anyone try and creep up on me. I also couldn’t see very far with the rain so heavy and of course there were no street lights, they’d been broken long ago. The one place I knew I could safely enter was the church, so I dashed.
The United States judicial system says that you are innocent until proven guilty. In language arts class we read a book called Monster, by Walter Dean Myers. Monster is about a 16 year old boy named Steve Harmon, and how he had to go on a trial for felony murder. The book is set as if Steve is making a screenplay. At the end of the book Steve is proven innocent, and free to go, but I believe that there was not enough information for Steve to be proven guilty. The jury did not see many parts of the story that readers of the book Monster read, for example, in his journal Steve writes about wanting to be like King, he also has flashbacks to before the crime that show him interacting with other members of the crime, and finally he had a lot of really close people doubting him.
Think about a time, where wild accusations occurred due to a power outage. This is exactly what happened during “Rod Serlings” teleplay. In the 1960s version, “The Monsters on maple street” (2003 Movie). During the unexpected power outages, neighbors accuse neighbors of aliens from a different planet. On the other hand, in the 2003 movie, terrorists were suspected of attacking a neighborhood. Even though both sections are difficult, scared people with fear can cause them to turn against each other.
the thought spun arou faster and faster untill I had to grab the near by tree to hold myself up,but my hand slpied and I hlanded with a loud thud. Sitting on the ground surrounded by the leaf litter was the runnaway slave staring wide eyed and in shock.
Society contributes to how people treat others with non-normative bodies. Race is a part of the physical features that contributes to how a person is viewed. In the texts The Monster and The Story of My Life, Henry Johnson and Helen Keller faced different treatments from their peers because of their different racial backgrounds. After saving a little boy from a fire that cost him is face, instead of being treated like a hero, he was treated like a monster because of his ethnicity. Helen Keller, on the other hand, was given education and became civilized through the determination of her peers. Society assumes Henry Johnson is mentally incapable of being more than a monster, while society believes in Helen Keller’s ability to overcome her disabilities because their race.
Aegeus, filled with a destructive rage, and cried, “Now you have provoked my rage.” Aegeus reached for his weapon – he had to dig through the blankets that had been strewn about the
I think the monsters in our society today are the people who kidnap kids. Its so sad to think that some people out there want to abduct children from their families. I don't know what they get out of this or why their intentions are this way. It hurts the family more than anything. Not knowing if your kid is still alive or where they are or whats happening to them. Walking into a store and seeing all the missing child pictures on the wall break my heart. This is why I believe that people who kidnap children are the biggest monsters in todays

In mythology, monsters provide a challenge that humans must overcome. Heroes try to gain fame by defeating them and townspeople are afraid of them. Monsters spread fear for men to conquer. They give the opportunity for heroes to prove themselves. According to Mr. Thomas Bullfinch, “monsters are unnatural in proportions and parts and are employed for the injury and annoyance of men (Bullfinch 1).” Monsters do have strange parts and a common purpose. In Greek mythology, monsters have striking similarities. They fall into distinct categories based on form and duty. Monsters may be part snake, lion, or human. Some have multiple heads. Most monsters’ duties include guarding something for another being. Other monsters have no responsibilities
“Orion!” Lunabelle cried. Claude managed to look up from his shocked state and point to Alis. Orion’s face twisted into an enraged expression. He drew his sword and stabbed the troll in the leg, which caused it to swing a fist at him. He evaded then climbed onto its back. Lydia shouted at the twins and forced them to run away before grabbing Alis and carrying her on her back.
RD3 drew his Golden Staff and held it up causing the enormous chainsaw to collide with his staff and split in half.
