Strong communication is vital element to any healthcare career. Whether it be with co workers, or patients; high quality communication skills help keep order and patient care outstanding. Being able to properly communicate how the ultra sound test operates to a patient who may be scared or confused, keeps the patient content and the test to run efficiently. Communication with co workers keeps the work atmosphere pleasant as well. Being able to ask questions, ask for help, or transmit a message to another co worker, keeps daily operations running efficiently and overall affecting the workplace in an affirmative way. Customer service in healthcare may be the most vital component to having a successful imagine department. Today’s society focuses on quality customer service to insure patients who need an ultrasound in the future come back, or refer friends and family members to their imaging center; therefore creating more business. I have worked in healthcare for a total of four years and truly understand what it takes to have quality customer service. It takes dealing with a variety of personalities to understand how to handle them.

Working forty hours a week and managing two classes per semester, one on-line and one in class, is not an easy task. Working till 5 o’clock and driving an hour to Newark to take a night class to work towards this ultrasound program is something that I wanted to do.
