I don’t know how many times my wife and I have woken up in the morning with a text message from our bank telling us that we are below $50 in our account. It would be glorious to say that we had $40 or even $20 in our account, but the text usually said “you are below $50 in your account. Your balance is $-346.75.” In fact, there has been many times when we were more in the red. Last week we noticed that our bills were getting paid which ultimately means our account balance goes down. It is simple math really. We have $500 in the account and two bills that equal $400 are deducted, then that means we have $100 left in our account.

Well, life and school happened and two years went by. He ordered the parts, but never had the time to install them. Last week he calls me up and asked if I wanted the bike because he can’t get the bike running. I told him I would absolutely take the bike. He said, “I will bring the bike over today, but I have to drop off a pool table to Habitat for Humanity first.” Without hesitation, I told him to bring the pool table over to my house too, I will take the pool table and motorcycle and sell them both. He said, “thank God, because I did not want to have to deal with selling these items.” This was a first! The Lord didn’t provide money in a traditional way, but he provided! Not only that, he knows me so well. He knows that I am good at flipping things.
However, doing this often takes strategy and patience. Whereas Gods provision does not take strategy or patience. God provides out of the abundant love for us. In fact, God wants to lavish you and I with favor and blessings each day.
As sons and daughters of the Most High we are adopted into the treasures of Heaven (Ephesians 1:3-5). I challenge you to wake up each day and ask God to align your heart with his and tell God that you receive all the blessings and favor that he has in store for you today.
