Essay For The National Honor Society

It is a great honor to be among the commendable students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is discernible for showing an interest in students with exemplary grades, great character, leadership, and service. Last year I was enrolled in a tenth grade honors language class, this year I am taking an advanced placement college course. I am enlisted in all honors classes and I strive to do the best that I can not only academically, but in all activities I participate in. I am a strenuous worker and have great character. Everything I try, I give all my effort, for example, in track I show good sportsmanship and cheer on my fellow athletes at every meet. I also show great leadership qualities.

I may not be the best candidate for the next member of the National Junior Honor Society, but I certainly believe I could be a great addition! Overall, I am a great learner, leader and student. I have not had any major discipline problems since kindergarten! I have always had top grades and have been top of my class at some point or another. I have good grades that I always maintain and standards that I never lower. My character is not the best but it certainly isn’t the worst. I try to help out in my school or community when possible but regrettably I have not given much of my time to my school or community. At the end of the day, I am a good student, friend, son and brother.

I am extremely excited to be given an invitation to the National Junior Honor Society. My understanding of how important this will be for me vastly grew after I found out the basic tenets of this organization. I have the distinct pleasure of welcoming all of you into the National Honor Society, a group built off of high standards of achievement, not only in the area of academics but also in character and leadership. I congratulate each of you and your parents.

I am extremely honored to be selected as an eligible candidate for National Honor Society (NHS), which is based on four pillars of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character. When I was 11 years old, I saw my older brother walk across the stage to receive his NHS award. Ever since then, my ultimately goal is to follow his step and accomplish all the requirement while being a great leader and a respectful character by providing useful service. I believe NHS has done terrific things in the society by hard work and dedication therefore, I hope to play a part in providing great service to society. I hope to confirm their belief in my qualifications by addressing NHS values of academic excellence, leadership, service, and character.

Receiving the recognition as a qualifying candidate for National Honors Society gives me great esteem in accomplishment. This translates to me knowing that my hard work has paid off and one of my first steps in the leadership of this community as well as larger roles can be pursued. I believe that my time as a National Honors Society student of Carteret High School can be trusted for the benefit of our society because I have proven to possess the qualities of good character, leadership, service, and scholarship. My time awaits to provide our community with the leadership it needs while at the same time leaving an example of a great student for everyone to reflect on for the betterment of themselves.

My nomination for membership into the National Honors Society has been an honor. The hard work I have been inputting into high school has not been unrecognized. This brings too light that I have achieve my goals to do my best in anything big or little, and to stand out among my peers.

I am honored to be among the many students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization does amazing things not just for the students at Harrison Community Schools but for everyone in the community and the surrounding communities. I hope to be a part of furthering the impressions that this organization has set among the public. I strive to be apart of NHS and the positive changes they inflict on many lives because I have worked hard to get to this point. Leadership, Character and Service have brought me far in life therefore they are my strength to evolve into positive changes that better everyone.

It is unbelievable that this year is my last year in Charlestown High School. As I look back at the past three years, there were several poignant moments when I was struggling with my classes and would have given up trying to achieve my goals. But as a diligent student, I chose to endure those moments. And that is how I become an outstanding student today. National Honor Society honors students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Being nominated to become a member of the National Honor Society is a highly prestigious honor, and I am very grateful to be a candidate.

It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.

I am truly humbled and honored to be selected amongst the top students in my graduating class and I am excited to be given the opportunity to represent Gateway High School in our chapter of National Honor Society. I firmly believe that I posses traits that fulfill the pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Scholarship in my eyes is the ability to excel at high level educational studies. As a student, I strive for excellence in every way I can. I have taken a variety of AP and Honors classes during my time in high school, and I am proud to say that I have found myself on High Honor Roll on each report card I have received. I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.

I have worked extremely hard to earn my chance to become a member of the National Honor Society and this application resembles a small prize on the enduring path to success for me. I believe, as a member of the National Honor Society, I will be able to enhance my spirit of service and accomplish more service goals and projects. Although, I already have many leadership skills under my belt, I can only imagine the many more skills I will gain from being a member of the National Honor Society. I am aware that the NHS is known for recognizing students with outstanding grades and commendable characteristics, which is something I believe I have obtained throughout my years of hard work.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is an honor, it recognizes those who have excelled in the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service and character. Simply being chosen as a candidate is a great honor for me. All throughout high school, I’ve strived to be a great, well rounded individual. I know that I belong in an organization like National Honor Society because it will assist me in becoming even more involved with my community than I already am and will positively benefit me. Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world” and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
