Alexander the Great has been a legend for hundreds of years, but the same debate still exists. In eleven years, Alexander conquered six major empires, thousands and thousands of miles of land and united cultures throughout his known world. Alexander the Great was truly great because of the incredible feats he achieved during his short reign. According to the paper that Mrs. Smith provided, Alexander marched over 22,000 of miles without losing a battle. One of the reasons that Alexander was so great is because he is one of the only people to never lose a battle during his time as king. At this time, he was the most powerful man ever, and is still listed as one the most influential people in the history of humankind, so much that people still talk about him today. Although Greek culture was already expanding, one of the main reasons it was already expanding was because of Alexander, and part of his conquest was to spread Greek culture to the world. This helped the places he conquered and the cultures mix together. Alexander was very lenient and adapting towards these people. This made Alexander a wiser and more humble ruler, and most of his subjects liked him. In conclusion, Alexander truly was great. He united an area of over two-million square miles, and he kept their culture and did not exclude any of them from his empire because of their roots. They belonged in his kingdom even though they did not speak the language nor had the same beliefs and cultures. Alexander conquered all of these people’s home lands, marching for years and years and using the conquered to conquer others.
